I booked an appointment for my kids' immunisation and called in the morning to confirm everything was in order. However, when I arrived, they informed me that they didn’t have the vaccines available. It was a complete waste of time, especially when I needed to get time off from work to get there. I would not recommend this place.

Edit: I sadly have to remove two stars from my review after my recent exchanges with Zion.

Twice I have called within their opening hours to hear their automated "you have called us outside of our usual hours".

I understand they may close earlier some days when they have no other appointments, but I called back a few minutes after my telehealth phone call to schedule a follow-up appointment, and couldn't reach them. This was only 5 minutes after speaking with the reception team at 4:30pm.

I don't dislike this practice, but will be looking elsewhere to hopefully find somewhere that is more reliable, consistent and not focused on finishing their appointment and leaving early.

Surprise cancellation fee. Missed my first appointment and recieved a call to reschedule. Then about an hour before my rescheduled appointment they call telling me todays appointment will be cancelled unless i pay a cancellation fee for last week.
Why couldn't they have told me this last week then?

Dr Sarathy is VERY un professional and rude. Many many appointments available but she says that an appointment should never been made as she is not accepting new patients. Total waste of time. Edit update: weird reply from "owner" of this practice I have not even mentioned medication once? So strange response but solidify how bad this place is when they cannot reply correctly to reviews left.

Dr Sarathy is based in Newcastle and I have been a patient at both her Newcastle and Rutherford clinics. Carolyn is thorough and professional, ensuring she covers all bases when diagnosing and is always kind and caring at appointments. She also does not recommend or prescribe any treatment unless it is deemed safe, effective and necessary.

I was seen October 5 to place my children’s vaccination records into the Australian Immunization Register. Nurse Linda’s computer stopped working during the appointment and she was not able to complete. She told me that she would put the information into the AIR and email me copies when completed. I never heard back from Linda or anyone at Zion Medical Center.
The next day they were closed although their posted hours stated otherwise. In a panic, I called multiple GP offices to see if I could get an appointment. No one from Zion called to update me until three weeks later upon which I was told that the records were completed on October 12. But, this not true as I was seen by the amazing Nurse Tracy at the Newcastle After Hours Surgery on October 6. She was able to complete the records and call me to make sure I received them. Unfortunately at Zion Medical Center I paid for a service that I did not receive and cannot recommend Zion due to their lack of communication and follow through.

Dr Sarathy has been my doctor for 10 years I first saw her when she was in Maitland. When she moved to Newcastle I followed her. She is extremely thorough and gives you the time you need. Getting an appointment is easy and the office staff are friendly and courteous always willing to help. She has a nurse on site who does injections and patient care plans along with all things essential for a great practice. If you are looking for a Dr in Newcastle I would highly recommend this practice.

This Newcastle doctor provides a professional yet personable approach to healthcare, that is proving harder to come across these days. Totally recommend this practise if you’re looking for a new doctor.
