During my stay at Ward D-3D, Bed 44, I had a very positive experience. The staff were attentive, professional, and caring, ensuring my comfort and well-being throughout my recovery following my liver resection surgery. I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the entire team for their dedication and hard work.

A special acknowledgment goes to Roshani, who went above and beyond in providing exceptional care. Her kindness, attention to detail, and compassionate approach made a significant difference in my experience, helping me feel supported and at ease during my hospital stay.

I am truly grateful for the outstanding care I received, and I sincerely thank everyone involved in my treatment.

ER nurse would not even face you when you try to talk to them. I was triaged to might need lung xray but ER nurse who walks around checking temp (without gentleness, by the way) and bp felt it was necessary to tell me that my symptoms were normal for the virus I was tested positive with 3 days ago. It may be true, yes. But I did not decide to come at 3am for no reason. I was coughing a lot and haven’t had sufficient rest for a week due to cough, colds and terrible headaches that even paracetamol + ibuprofen could not resolve. At this point I couldn’t sleep anymore I might as well sit beside the lavatory to cough, spit out phlegm, blow my nose after every 2 mins. I wanted to get checked by a doctor and get an xray if needed. Finally seen by a doctor after 3.5 hours. Symptoms assessed as expected and should be expected to improve in the next 3 days. I didn’t need an xray because my lungs sounded clear. Honestly, I was relieved. But then the doctor said at the end, “May I remind you that Emergency is for urgent cases only. This should have been followed up with your GP.” He may be right. But for a patient who is worried not just for their health but is also trying to avoid paying $40 because GPs charge that during weekends, that statement made my heart sink. I felt bad for coming at all when I just wanted to get assurance that what I had was nothing serious. Perhaps staff need training on how to communicate with compassion. If you are unhappy with your work, don’t take it out on your patients. It felt like your attitudes were intentional so patients can complain on your behalf with all the posters in the waiting room. This is very disappointing. Your oath is to care for your patients. Not use us for your own agenda. Make all GPs bulk-billed and improve your work attitudes.

We are extremely thankful to Westmead Hospital and the entire team at ward K10a Neurosurgery for their amazing care during our 1 week emergency stay in early February.

During the time, we were always treated in a professional and friendly manner from all the Doctors, Nurses and other staff involved.
They were also kind enough to listen to our concerns, requests as well as patiently respond to any questions with clear information.
Overall, it was really an eye opener to see just how much work goes into caring for patients and we truly appreciated their efforts. In difficult times, a little bit of kindness such as a smile goes a long way and the staff at K10a treated us as if we were a friend/family making us feel reassured that we are being well looked after.

Additionally, at the beginning of the events when being transferred between Blacktown Hospital ED to Westmead, the receptionists and ambulence paramedics were helpful and professional.

***Special shoutouts/thankyou to: Jeshua, Joyce, Chris, Anne, Justine, Ashley, Jeff, Kayley, Tayler, Ruby (Apologies if anyone was missed).
For the surgery, we're grateful for Dr Kim and the team who operated for a successful outcome and good recovery.

Realistically, there were some delays during the waiting times in E/R and surgery however this is expected and understandable in this environment and the staff are clearly doing their best to prioritise the urgent patients. We were monitored and kept updated during wait times.

Just taking some time to recognise and appreciate that these people are working hard every day in a high-stress environment while caring for and saving the lives of people we love. Thankyou.

*P.S We sent some thankyou cookies through to K10a on 24/3 during our last visit and hope it reached everyone, especially the people mentioned.

Where do I start, parking is chaotic, the hospital is massive so to navigate can be difficult. Outpatient ward is great- wait times are acceptable. Emergency on the other hand- nightmare. It’s like you’re not in Australia. Staff are amazing and the Drs are tops- it’s just when you see them you maybe over tired and cranky to appreciate the service.
The cafeteria is loaded with great food- prices are ridiculous especially the sandwiches.
I was recently there in outpatient surgery and I was blown away by the She was full service delivery, care and support from staff.

The worst hospital in the world definitely no one cares all the say we don’t know then who knows then?
Had my both wrists surgery here on feb they didn’t send me the discharge letter till a month they didn’t say that it happened to me at work so I had problems with insurance
Changed my appointment a few times after I was already at hospital
Didn’t give me referral for ct and after calling 10 times and going to hospital a few times all I got was it’s too busy we forgot
THE WORST HOSPITAL IN THE WORLD DEFINITELY BETTER TO DIE THAN GOING THERE

My son was admitted to hospital and we were seen by nurses and specialist doctors quite shortly. They were so gentle and provided compassionate care which I am so grateful for. Thank you and I would like to acknowledge sister Amber, who is such a kind nurse.

Our son was admitted into Westmead Hospital, Emergency Department, after a bike accident.
The Hospital was wonderful. The Paramedics that brought him in, Nate and Max, were absolute Angels. They looked after him until we arrived, and kept him calm and ensuring he was ok.
Once he was put into a cubicle, the Nurses there were brilliant. They took their time with him, and checked him over thoroughly. Sara was wonderful, as were all the nurses and doctors.
Nate and Max came in to check on our son about 2 hours after he was moved into a cubicle.
Everyone there, the doctors and nurses were brilliant. They kept our son comfortable and carried out all the necessary tests.
I would definitely recommend Westmead Hospital to anyone.
Very happy with everything and everyone!! Highly commendable.

My father was left to die like an animal... He was only 67 and was obviously dying... But the sight of blood all over his teeth and it was a significant amount.... Where are the medical staff so people don't have to be traumatised when they walk in.. I'm certain most doctors do their very best.... However, if you were to walk around to every Ward or indeed speak to people whose loved ones have passed.... Countless for say the doctors over prescribed medication that wasn't necessary.... We're just guessing half the time.... Treated the patient as a number.... And truly believe that their loved one would have survived longer had they been at home... The old joke never gets old. The difference between God and doctors is that God doesn't think he's a doctor..... Again this does not apply to all of them is there a medical experts who are simply brilliant..
