Yesterday, after we had a car accident, my companion had obvious pain in his leg and we went to this hospital for treatment. A male doctor entered the examination room and stood with his left leg on the ground and his right leg on the bed, looking down at my companion who was lying on the treatment bed and asking him about his injury. I found it very strange. After the doctor finished the examination, he directly asked us to have an X-ray and then let us leave without any further checks for symptoms after a car accident. It was really frustrating!!

I came here after the Mater Hospital told us we'd need to wait 8 hours to see a doctor.

I was seen immediately, with a nurse even coming out of the car and treating us while filling out forms.

They were able to resolve an agonizing night quickly.

I've actually been to this emergency room 4 times for varying reasons over the last 4 years and every time has been amazing service.

There is a $300 cost each time you visit, but doesn't seem like much when they alternate is waiting in pain for 7 hours.

I have had 2 wonderful experience with the prompt and caring treatment of my (then 17 month old son). They saw him immediately with a thorough examination and swift treatment each time by 2 different doctors. Well worth the money spent to be seen quickly.

Had the absolute displeasure of meeting one of the emergency physicians last night (will not name). We quite politely informed him that we would prefer to have a surgery done in Ipswich, purely due to the fact there would be no out of pocket costs as we knew an orthopaedic surgeon there, to which he stated that “doctors who work further away from the GPO are poorly trained, usually from ‘Grifftafe’, and they aren’t really wanted in Brisbane, therefore they go to such areas to practice”. He went on a small rant for several minutes where he put down every doctor who wasn’t trained from the University of Queensland.

Not only was this extremely unprofessional, it also goes to show that his prestigious university degree has not bought him any class or bedside manner and he could benefit from some serious humbling.

Neither of us responded to his immature and snobby way of speaking about other medical professionals, but both of us left feeling shocked at everything we heard.
