All the nurses and other staff were great and treated me with respect. There was a lot to take in and being older I found it hard to remember it. Trauma counseling wasn’t available there which is a pity because that’s what I really needed but I travel now each week to Temora for counseling. We had BBQ’s and the other consumers were a great help to me. The staff encouraged me to get a medium sized dog which I did, a cavoodle puppy, he is very smart and is a very great help to me to take my attention away from the pain I am experiencing. I still paint but my puppy and garden is my first love. Together we go for car rides or on the scooter, mower and tractor or I chase him with my walker through the house.

I just spent 8 weeks at the unit and it has absolutely changed my life for the better. It was my last chance of getting help.
I was depressed with no purpose. 8 weeks later I walked out knowing how to manage myself and I have direction for my future. All the staff were amazing, helpful and supportive. They always listened and spent time trying to understand when i wasn't the best at explaining. You get out of the program what you put in. I am forever thankful for this program.

In the past 3 years or so I have had various stays in both the High Dependency and Acute wards. From the little that I can remember about HD the staff treated me a difficult patient with both dignity and respect. It was not all positive as there were a couple of nurses several years ago who were less than professional but that was only 2 out of the many who all otherwise cared for me and other patients very well under difficult circumstances. I do not judge others who write the bad reviews and may have had poor outcomes. However I am thankful that as imperfect as the system may be it is fair to say that in many places particulary overseas they have no Mental Health systems, facilities, or treatments. So thanks Wagga MHRU because I have been to a hospital in another area many years ago which was a real nightmare. Or hey, maybe it was more my attitude back then. Thanks so much Wagga MHRU 🙂

Was in the unit from November - Early January 2019

Nurses treated me horribly, so did the patients, I'd report the harassment and nothing was done.

One of the nurses even joked about killing my pets (Kyran I think his name was?)

Got to the point that I starved myself to avoid people. Left 4 weeks in instead of the 8 I was supposed to be there. Was meant to go back in May 2019, but refused.

Only making this review now, because I didn't know there was a review section till now.

I had the pleasure of spending 9 weeks in the recovery unit they helped me understand why I was feeling the way that I did and showed me the skills to manage my emotions and mental health I’m so grateful for all of the stuff especially my rst (Vikki and Aynslie) big love to them all but especially ray who after a couple of months out of the unit my car went flat in the hospital parking lot and he came and jumpstart me what a legend ✨🩷

Absolutely disgusting care and regard for their patients. I waited 3 hours for my designated nurse to actually come see me about medication whilst I was having a full blown attack. She couldn’t care less as I was sitting in the common area ‘socialising’ so I was fine( the other patients were trying to console me because no one else was). Doctors don't actually listen to their Patients, and when they do get it completely incorrect or just don’t chart anything. Told 3 nurses on different occasions one day when I was feeling low that I did not feel safe and I wanted to harm myself. They just told me to remember my breathing techniques and left. Nobody cares here if you’re in the too hard basket. Next time I need help I’ll make sure not to bother to have the courage to task someone for help and deal with it my own way. Thanks for nothing and reminding me why I don’t seek help
