I had my first appointment at this clinic today, for a skin check. Dr Ali was great. He took time to understand my medical background. He gave me a thorough examination and explained risk factors in relation to skin cancers. I will be returning for periodic examinations.

Refusing to see a patient (and giving no good reason) when it is in regards to their ongoing mental health plan (written by Dr Ali Afshar) is diabolical medical practice.

I suspect it was because he had previously made a mistake in regards to my ADHD diagnosis and medication - which I let the practice know about before going to see a different, more specialised doctor.

However, I was advised that I needed to see the original doctor who had written up the mental health care plan in order to gain access to the rest of my therapy sessions. A good doctor would take accountability for a patients health and wellbeing and maintain a commitment to their overall care. In Dr Ali's refusal to see me - I found this not to be the case.

Also, the receptionist was extremely rude and abrupt on the phone and ended the call in an aggressive tone with: 'He has the right to refuse to see you'.

Avoid Vic Medical Doctors - especially if you require help with mental health issues.

My husband and I were recently upset when our regular GP moved to a distant location, leaving us in search of a new trusted doctor. However, after my husband’s appointment with Dr. Ali today, I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. Dr. Ali is an absolute gem! He thoroughly explained the blood test results, reviewed my husband's entire medical history, and provided insightful advice on various health matters. I’m genuinely looking forward to my own first appointment with him. It’s such a relief to know we are now in even better hands.

Went to have a skin check and the receptionist was only to happy to help and was able to give me an appointment when I wanted it. Didn't even have to wait long. The appointment was great and went smoothly although I did fill out all my information on a link they sent me but it didn't come through so had to do it all again on paper!
