Could not speak more highly of the punctual, high quality, lived experience informed, and empathetic care my girlfriend and I received when I took her there when she was in crisis. We were seen by a nurse and lived experience carer within 15 minutes, for better and more empathetic care than I've seen from ED or ambulance staff. They attended to all medical and legal concerns professionally, which allayed all of my girlfriend's fears about coming here. The clinician we saw was so lovely, she helped my girlfriend open up like I've rarely seen her do. The benefits we both got from just a few hours in the middle of the night were incredible. This place is perfect

I recently visited the urgent mental health care centre on Grenfell st after receiving a recommendation from life line.

I was an absolute mess when I arrived but was met by compassionate, understanding, diligent and informative staff, who really validated what I was going through. They made me feel as safe, calm and reassured as they possibly could.

If you’re suffering from a mental health crisis in Adelaide I strongly recommend this centre over visiting an emergency room initially. They will help you get a clearer picture of the care you need and how to go about getting it.

I came here one night in a state of panic due to stress from a family member. The staff were very friendly and offered me snacks and other amenities. I did have to wait a while to talk to a therapist because there was a change over of shift (11pm). I do not remember the name of the therapist that saw me (she was in an electric wheelchair) but she was empathetic and helped me out greatly with the difficulty that I was going through with. I hope this place is able to get more funding.

Could not be more grateful that a facility like this exists & is accessible 24/7 for anyone in crisis. Not only do I believe that you saved my friends life but the level of care, support & understanding shown to us both will never be forgotten. I have been in and out if the mental health system my entire life, yesterday was the first time I felt truly heard. Thank you to every single one of your team from peer support workers to the clinical assessment team for everything you do to make this amazing safe space work. It gives me hope. Every single one of you restored my faith in humanity by simply being there when I didn't know where else to turn for help. Forever greatful ❤️

I would not recommend this place to anybody in a mental health crisis at all. My experience with presenting here with my Son was so very poor . It was obvious to x 3 staff members that my son was extremely unwell and that I was struggling with him. After a 10 minute if that even intake process we left with the opinion of the intake person that they could be of no support other than give us a folder of pamphlets and a bottle of water each . The intake person I question to what is there duty of care? I myself a health care professional. Less than 24 hours after visiting this service on 1/ 01/25 my son took his own life.
After contacting this place to inform them of our experience and the outcome
I then received a survey to fill out about my experience as the support person.
No sensitivity at all for a mother who lost her son the day before.
I was told I would receive a call as this experience would be reported and escalated to the appropriate in charges.
I have not received to date any call or feedback.
My opinion as a mother and healthcare professional very very poor service .
Perhaps there needs to be a re branding of the name of the service as it gives false hope.

came here last night and the workers were honestly so sweet. if i'm being honest, i hadn't heard good things about this place but i was in crisis so i decided to give it a last ditch shot, fully expecting to hate it and walk out with nothing changed. i think there's a lot of confusion around what this place is for, but i realized that it is more a place to keep people safe in crisis then fixing all their issues and having specialist care. even though that is the case, i still found it extremely helpful and genuinely walked out of there with a smile on my face a few hours later. i was able to talk to workers who i could relate to and it was nothing like the other mental health services ive used in the past, which were extremely judgmental, misinformed and unhelpful. shout out to the cool worker named river, they were so nice to me and really helped me feel better.

Waited 2 hours to be seen by any of the 6 staff I saw. Continually was told it wouldn't be too much longer. It was an absolute joke. The person before me was seen 10 minutes after his paperwork was done. Unless it's an absolute crisis, this place won't do anything for you.
