Before I started this program I was struggling to lose weight and I had tried so many different weight loss programs all without success. I didn't want food to control me but was desperate for help.

I decided to try Dr Angela's Enlighten me program because as my GP I trusted her implictly and knew that she would provide the right advice when it came to weight loss. I spoke with her in my initial break through call and she was extremely thorough and very caring and not judgemental.

I highly recommend the Enlighten Me program that Dr Angela has created to anyone that has been struggling with their weight! Having seen her as a general practice patient for several years beforehand, I knew I would be in great hands.

While I had managed to lose 7% body weight in the 5 months prior to joining the program with the help of medication alone and having my weight loss appear to plateau, I have found that the program that Dr Angela has created has been so much more effective than I ever thought possible. I was able to lose 9 cm from my waist circumference and a further 10 kg (13.6%) during the 16 weeks of the program, by utilising all the tools provided by the program and also having all of my underlying endocrine-related conditions better managed.

Having the program include both the medical oversight of Dr Angela as well as the contributions of her other fantastic team members - nutrition advice from the wonderful nutritionist Bow and approachable exercise advice and workouts from the exercise physiologist Beau - I have never felt so supported and so well-equipped with tools to better manage my weight in the long term.

I now find it so much easier to find clothes that fit me well and that I feel good in and there's so many things I find physically easier to do now that I'm not carrying all those extra kilos, such as carrying my toddler up flights of stairs and for short distances and walking up steep inclines without feeling completely out of breath!

Now that I have graduated from the program I have even continued to lose weight (2 kg and 3.5 cm waist circumference), even over the Christmas and New Years period! I have to admit, I do really miss the weekly nutrition and exercise classes with Dr Angela and the team as I found it really enjoyable, though for the first time I do actually feel that it's possible to continue the good work on my own by continuing to implement everything I've learnt here. Dr Angela's program has been really helpful for me. I had been struggling to shed some kilos but also, I had struggled to find a Dr that would treat my insulin resistance and other issues I knew I had, but previous GPs kept telling me for years "Everything was fine!".
