Ultimate Barossa Retreats - Tanunda, South Australia

Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend away at the Barossa Retreat. I kicked off my Friday with a lovely lunch at Nosh in the Main Street and then head back to meet the amazing ladies I would get to know over the weekend. We enjoyed chakra balancing, cards and vision boards by the pool, had a fabulous meal at the Tanunda Hotel and then spent the evening by the fire. I enjoyed our trip to the Farmers Market Saturday morning (great coffee and bagels too) followed by the most incredible massage by Sumer. I was excited to join the mosaic class which was nicely done by the pool and very surprised by the piece I made to take home, a lovely stepping stone. The Bonsai’s looked amazing. We had dinner in Saturday night and enjoyed local pizza and Malaysian which was delish. It was such a beautiful old home, there were apartments too and it was perfect finishing off the evenings in front of the fire. Hosts Kym and Angela were great, it was a really relaxed environment and it was great being able to book in to the activities of your choice and spend time exploring Tanunda. The local wines and food are amazing.

Fantastic location in the main street of Tanunda - although this is quite a busy street, you cannot hear a thing inside thanks to the 100 year old stone walls.

Really well laid out conversion of this gracious historic house into four apartments. There are 3 one bedroom apartments and 1 three bedroom apartment (each apartment with its own bathroom), but it's possible to open the apartments to make a four/five/six bedroom house.

The three bedroom apartment has a kitchen, formal dining room and sitting room with an open fireplace.
Bedrooms, dining room, and sitting room all have split system heating/cooling as well as large opening windows, so you can be assured of being comfortable all year round.
Access to swimming pool and garden and full laundry.

Fantastic place to self cater or to help the local restaurants and coffee shops get back on their feet. Certainly an excellent option to visit the wineries, then take back a bottle to enjoy in front of the open fireplace.

Hosts are very lovely locals who were helpful and unobtrusive.

What an amazing retreat this was over 3 days. The accommodation in a 2 bedroom apartment with a spa in one of the two bathrooms added to the stress free and total relaxed break away.
Kym Brown does an amazing hostess role making you feel very welcomed. Kym's knowledge and care for people is outstanding. Various activities are available to choose from. I did a floatation tank experience which I loved so much I booked in for the next day for the same experience. Another new experience for me was the Spinal Flow Therapy. Marg Brassington from Purposeful Life is a qualified practitioner who has made a huge impact on my living my best stress free life.
Numerous massages are available along with other hands on experiences like basket weaving, pottery, reiki and vision board making.
I have come away from this retreat meeting so many other beautiful souls and lots of new knowledge on improving my personal growth.

Stayed there with family over Christmas and we enjoyed it very much. Its a beautiful big old house with great historical vibe. Clean and very nice bedrooms. Also you can use sitting outside area or pool. Also in very nice location.

Unfortunately a bad experience staying here. The place was spacious but did not feel nor smell clean. The floor was covered in dust/dirt, especially the bathroom where there were white footprints left and a terrible smell, possibly mice? Looked as though some repair work had been done - flakes of something all over the spa bath.

There was a fridge, microwave and full set of cutlery and crockery but had to do all washing up in a tub / bathroom sink.

Has potential & nice to be provided with water, large milk and apple juice in fridge.

This house is old and just fantastic ,it served its purpose and was comfortable for 12 guest for the whole week plus a birthday dinner party and centrally located in the barossa valley with many cellar doors close by

I was fortunate to spend a day at the retreat with my daughter and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the pool and outdoor area. It was so nice to enjoy a day with other lovely ladies, enjoy a coffee and wine, beautiful morning/afternoon teas etc I did things I’d never imagine doing like chakra balancing, making vision boards and just taking time out for me. It’s great knowing that if I can’t stay for a weekend I can book in activities like massage, facials, bonsai and many other things to make a day of it. The hosts were wonderful and created such a fun relaxed environment for us all.
