I booked a bulked bill appointment online and I gave my Medicare card number and everything was fine initially. Then when I came in for my appointment I was told I had to pay upfront before my appointment due to the fact I had a reciprocal healthcare card ( according to Medicare this shouldn’t affect how I pay or the services through Medicare I can access). The receptionist told me to not worry that I will get the full amount back by Medicare. After paying and attending my appointment ( which was over half an hour late and lasted minutes) I was told that I wouldn’t be reimbursed the total amount!

Why not be transparent about the costs and how much money I will have to pay? Why was I not informed that because I have a reciprocal health care card I would be treated differently ? I have never had to pay for a bulked bill GP appointment before! I rang Medicare and they said this was not acceptable but only the GP surgery could do anything about it.

I am extremely upset that I have been cheated and tricked out of money and I will not be visiting this clinic again. The doctor I visited was also rude. I also sent an email about this complaint and it’s been over a week and still no response.

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC- go anywhere else.

Incredible that people are complaining about wait times when receiving a free service, probably the same people that will then also complain the doctor didn’t give them enough time, should be grateful to have a bulk billing doctor in townsville. I have no problems getting into see my doctor and I’m grateful for the services available.

Could not book with my regular Doctor and was feeling anxious regarding having to outline my medical history. Should not have worried. I encountered a wonderful Doctor who had already familiarised herself with my history. Very caring, super professional and thorough. The Doctor eased my anxiety with her outstanding knowledge and patient care. Highly recommended the Townsville GP superclinic. Thank you for your kindness.

I have been seeing Dr Carmelina for 17 years. She is absolutely amazing Dr which is why I have always followed her when she changed clinics. But the 2 stars is because I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the running of the clinic itself. Firstly I understand Carmelina doesn’t do Telehealth, I had an appt booked today at 9am for mental health concerns but I tested positive for Covid this morning so I asked if the lady in reception if Carmelina can do a Telehealth for me as I am concerned about my mental health and she’s the only Dr that understands and knows me. The lady in reception said she would ask the supervisor, not even ask Carmelina that a long term loyal patient is asking for a one off due to mental Health concerns. I was told I can do a Telehealth app but with a random Dr who has no idea about me as a person in general. The 2nd thing is Carmelina is late 100% of the time. I am 100% of the time waiting a good 45-60 minutes so I urge the booking system be improved as the Dr clearly need more time for people.. not 10-15 minutes… I work in a similar industry so I know how it works. Return appointment to get results from child's blood test. First drama was the text message to access results required child's name and date of birth, input those correctly, told incorrect, called clinic to check details were correct, tried again, still no good. Booked appointment to get results, chose 9:40am on a Saturday, clinic opens at 9:00am, somehow appointment still starts 50 minutes late. Got into appointment, Doctor couldn't find results, tried calling Pathology room, walked there instead. Have taken my child here 3 times, appointment has never been less than 45 minutes late, will be going somewhere else from now on.

Friendly and helpful staff from reception to nurses to doctor.
Had to wait 45 mins which wasn't great. I expect maybe up to 15 mins sometimes for a GP appointment but this was a bit much.
GP was great and really listened to me.
Unfortunately not an easy fix so she has referred for a few tests.

I am extremely frustrated with the ongoing delays at this GP clinic. Despite having booked an appointment in advance, I have consistently had to wait for an extended period of time. On one occasion, I waited over an hour before I was seen, and I thought it might have been due to an emergency situation, so I let it slide. However, when the same thing happened during my second visit—waiting for over 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time—I decided to cancel altogether. This is unacceptable. If appointments are scheduled, there should be a better system in place to ensure that patients are seen on time, or at the very least, informed if there will be a significant delay. I understand emergencies can arise, but this has now happened multiple times, and it is incredibly inconvenient and disrespectful to my time. I’m seriously reconsidering whether I want to continue seeing this practice.

Dr Nina Salman was amazing! Super helpful with an embarrassing issue and doesn't condescend or blow you off like a lot of doctors do! Amazing work, would recommend her
