I got my gallbladder removed at the Wesley hospital. The personnel and the surgery team were wonderful. I especially thank Dr Reza Adib and Ms Michaela, one of nurses who was on the night shift . Her care was excellent and her smile and patience was wonderful.

I have been a patient at Wesley Hospital for the past 3 weeks and have had the best of care from the the moment I was greeted by the lady at reception. The nursing staff and my doctor have given me the greatest of care. The catering staff have also been great and a pleasure to chat to. If I had one small criticism, it would be the minimal choice of food for diabetics (snacks etc)
Many thanks to all

Wesley NEVER AGAIN!

Unfortunately sad memories of my care (or lack of) here. I had major gastric surgery. I was left for hours on the ward with postoperative nausea and vomiting. Mentally I couldn't advocate for myself at the time.

My concerned husband ended up helping me into the shower for hours for some reprieve. Finally a nurse came and checked on me and found me in the shower. She seemed angry.

In hindsight, I'm not sure why we didn't ask for more help. I think it's the vulnerability of the sick person in hospital perhaps? I should have been cared and advocated by the nursing staff more regularly.

I was an RN/RM for many years and would be horrified if my patients were neglected like that. Absolutely terrible memories.

Much prefer my public health care experiences 100%. They probably have the same Specialist's too. It's like night and day.

Never again.

Mother 96 year old treated horribly. She has bad legs and pressure sores. Have her sitting up with legs down resting on foot stool. I went to highlight this and I was kicked out of hospital due to being loud. Did I mention normally loud.

As a result my Mum has no visitors. They sat her up and no phone no buzzer how disgusting

Do not go to ward MB1 they are horrible. Untrained staff telling me that is how they raise legs in this ward no compassion and dumb as anything.

Head nurse promised me that she would check on my mother never happened. Nurse told my brother my mum like feet dangling down when eating another lie

As for discharge Dr says we will tell you tomorrow if you go home tomorrow or next day. You can not just tell a 96 year old with carers she is hoping home. Things need to be organise

It is all about making thing easier for them than the patients

I would not send my worse enemy there.

I spent three days at The Wesley two weeks ago, I can’t rate my experience highly enough! The nurses (from 7E) were compassionate, kind and knew their specialty. Their encouragement when I needed it was deeply appreciated, thank you. The food was delicious with lots of beautiful gluten free options and rice milk, yes!!! Every plate of food I received was beautiful and had a generosity about it, thank you.

I attended emergency on Monday morning (13/1/25) and was admitted and operated on the same day. I went home the next day after a very positive experience at the Wesley. It is a busy hospital, to be sure, but almost everyone introduces themselves, staff members take the time to answer questions and seem to be genuinely interested in ensuring you are informed, involved, comfortable and feel cared for. The staff have safety protocols, they follow them and seem to take them seriously. The surgeon and his team speak to you like you are a real person. I didn't have much food but what I had was simple and tasty and delivered when needed. Thanks especially to Dr Jenny in A&E who identified and prioritised my need for urgent surgery, thanks to Hayley and Fiona as well for their considerate care. . Thanks to Dennis, Brooke and Nicola on the ward and of course to Drs Ben and Steven in theatre. I don't have a lot of experience with hospitals but I doubt that they are all this good.
