It's been a great experience made by these amazing individuals. Cat from reception full of life and full or reassurance. Brett with the funniest jokes he could be a professional stand up comedian! Jeanette who's an angel, who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond. Thank you for making my first hospital experience a great one. Thanks to Junie too who is very detailed and great at explaining things. Such a blessing having such a great team.

My son had day surgery today and he was so nervous & anxious leading up to it. From the minute we walked in, he felt so comfortable in a very clean environment. He was attended to be RN Brett who was very welcoming, warm and funny. He was very thorough and kept us informed the whole way - he certainly made a difference to my son and made him feel at ease. . Can't fault this facility and highly recommend it.

I am currently a rehab patient at this Hospital. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and respect I am being given. The nursing staff are very attentive and caring. They are extremely thorough. My doctor is very nice and addresses any concerns/ worries I have promptly and sensitively.

I think the food here is great and there is a wide variety of meals. Vegetables arrive without having all the body boiled out.

The physio team is well co- ordinated and obviously communicate well with occ therapists. I feel the rehab program is very well structured.

Having had surgery following a fall at home I arrived here with all sorts of fears and worries. Everyone I talk to is understanding.

I look forward to being rehabiltated so I can return to my home and work.

Thank you all at Sydney Private Hospital

Nursing staff theatre nurses and surgeons all fantastic but my surgeon told me weeks earlier that my operation was at 430 pm meaning fast from 1030 am - I was notified by the hospital I had to be there at 1030 which I rang and double checked and they insisted I be there at 1030 fasted so I waited around for what turned out to be 7 hours for a twenty minute procedure at 5. 00 pm - a completely unnecessary 24 hour fast for a procedure under local anaesthetic including the last 2 hours in a gown as the area where I was waiting fully clothed was closing so the hospital could send the staff home - Medical staff are great - management’s complete disregard for patients in the name of cost cutting in a private hospital where they get top dollar from patients mean I will never go back there esp as staff told me they get these types of complaints all the time

My stay at The Sydney Private Hospital in Ashfield was a truly lovely experience. Staff very caring, lots of smiles and really helped with my recovery from operation. Having my operation here and then transitioning to rehab, all under the one roof, has made life much easier in my opinion. Highly recommend TSPH

Management and co-ordination seriously lacking.
My Surgeon, Dr Petchell was wonderful, caring and a great communicator.
The anaesthetist was wonderful.
The nursing staff: most were fantastic, some were learning.
Food is generally very poor; no checks done. As a coeliac and diabetic (diet controlled) I understand it is complex, but it’s not rocket science! Gluten and high carb were frequently offered!!!
The Physio and gym: the exercises were given to me on paper, thank goodness…as each Physio had their own idea…no consistency, no co-ordination.
The facility: level 4 was in a shocking state (although clean). I was moved to another floor after a week, so they could start renovations. About three years too late. The whole building is looking tired and overdue for a makeover.
EnvironmentL commitment: nothing obvious. Thousands of plastic water bottles in plastic rubbish bags mixed with general waste.
If there is not enough money for the owners to maintain and manage properly, the owners should get out of the business.
I’ve stayed in better backpacker accommodation in third world countries.

The paragraph below was written when I was an inpatient, with a less than enthralling experience.
There’s a completely different experience with their physio rehab team, who are superb. Definitely come as an outpatient.

I’m at the Sydney Private Hospital now, recovering from knee replacement. My surgical stocking (essential for weeks after surgery) has not been replaced for two days. I have been promised a replacement several times. Nothing happens. Physiotherapy is excellent. As with most hospitals, the food is vile

I recently visited a patient and was appalled by the standards.
My friend’s bin was overflowing (3-4 days of rubbish) and I estimate his bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for the same period, it was filthy.
The carpet tiles outside his room are worn to the rubber base.
As for food, it is disgraceful, my friend has ‘Diabetic’ stamped all over his menu and he was served up for breakfast a Whittakers choc/peanut bar with his Sultana Bran.
For morning tea he was given a scalding cup of tea, 3 Jatz biscuits and a quarter of a an unwrapped slice of cheese.
Is this appropriate from a hygiene perspective?
This is 3rd world stuff and not consistent with what should be served in any hospital let alone a ‘private’ facility.
I feel for all the staff, they are so under-resourced and under constant pressure.
Be prepared to be contracted by the Health Dept as I will be reporting this to them also.
1 star is the lowest rating, it isn’t deserved of that.
