An amazing rehab facility that teaches inpatients the proper skills to better their mental health and/or AOD addictions. Nurses are extremely friendly and caring towards all patients and prioritize everyone’s needs. Psychiatrists care to properly diagnose and medicate to facilitate a better recovery experience. Therapists are extremely qualified and promote tools and education towards your mental health illness or addiction to better navigate the journey that all inpatients are individually on. If you want to get better and have a chance at long term success then this is the rehabilitation facility for you. Couldn’t be more grateful for all the help that I have received.

Great hospital and staff, the Irish nurses were nice and professional. The most enjoyable experience was talking with the other patients; through shared experiences, we created bonds and supported each other. I was treated respectfully and with dignity. I am a new person because of the care, compassion, and genuine support I received.

I would prefer to give 0 stars. Our loved one has had multiple visits over the last 12 months - comes back steadily worst each time. Returned from 3 weeks ‘rehab’ like shell of their former self - appeared high/drugged and later angry and abusive on return to home environment - despite a loving family who would do anything for them. Incredibly distressing to see their demise and to push away everyone that cares for them.

This is purely a money making business model where they are happy for patients not to recover to enable repeat visits and extra $$$$$$$…..not to mention health funds money wasted too. Honestly avoid with a barge pole there must be better options out there. Your loved one will be fed high dose benzodiazepines to keep them happy but no effective therapy or addressing of acute addiction and mental health needs. This place does not help your loved one’s struggle with mental health or addiction issues.

Sydney Clinic damages and exploits the most vunerable. A cult of addiction enablement. Our loved one worst off than ever - a shell of their former self.

My experience - this is not a good place.

Ugly rundown facilities with very little in the way of entertainment or even comfortable places to sit.

And from a couple of frequent flyers - this is one of the nicer places!

These negative reviews are no joke, this place will leave you worse off than when you arrived.

Still cannot believe the money insurance shell out for a stay. The experience I had left me in a worse place than when I went in and has put me off seeking help in the future. I even contacted my insurer and they weren't interested. Smells like a money making scam to me.

Is MH Care really this broken? And in Australia?

Credit to a few of the nurses who genuinely try. Most though are as fed up and jaded as the patients they are tasked with providing care to.

Healthscope? More like Healthscam.

If you want your loved one to access illegal drugs daily and have numerous hours of unsupervised time away from the facility with other drug users- then this is the place for them. However, if your loved one needs actual help with their issues run far away from this joint and never look back. There have been three O.Ds just in the past week on sight.

Went into the clinic with depression possibly bi polar - doctors recommended ECT. Sped up my mind and turned me into a vegetable. Went back in and was basically told bad luck and sent me back into the world. Now am mostly disabled and barely functional. Life ruined, thanks very much.

The psychiatrists I've seen there are great. Nothing against them. Management, however, is a different story.

Speaking to other patients and Sydney clinic staff (reception), - NOT confirmed by the doctor in question - they decided to cancel the contract of one of the psychiatrists at the clinic because the doctor wasn't referring enough patients to the hospital. Apparently management said "business is business" and are looking for a doctor who will refer more patients to the hospital.

Putting profits before people is unethical. Combined with an incentive to put more people in the hospital so you can charge insurance companies , the mentally sick and Medicare more, for treatment they don't need, is boarding on fraud.

How do you explain this?

Zero stars.

Absolute disgrace. You will leave with more psychological issues than what you arrive with.

Purely there for money making.

Majority of the nursing staff (especially night time) should not be in the mental health sector. I've seen them berate and antagonise patients while visiting a loved one.

Very little access to support from Doctors and therapists. Its more a holding cell or an place for people to do court ordered recovery to tick a box.

Facilities extremely outdated. Don't believe the website that states it been renovated. For the amount they charge. This is robbery.

This place needs to be shut down.
