My newborn daughter got a fever and started having seizures suddenly one day. I took her to the hospital. I was panicking. The staff in the children emergency room were good but the ladies that looked after us on the ward were FANTASTIC! my daughter had meningitis so it was a very scary time for me. They were so kind and more than willing to explain things and answer any questions I had (and I had a lot). They did everything they could to keep me comfy during our 10 day stay and they did all they can to save my little girl. If it wasn't for them I don't think she would be here with us today. I owe the ladies at the gulung ward, my whole life! They saved my daughter. Thank you all so much.

Had my daughter there in 2006, and they were amazing then. My father is now there for dementia and they are really looking after him so well.

Unfortunately, there are some unique people who enter the hospital, causing problems and putting patients and staff in danger.

There is a designated area for smoking away from the park for a reason, I wish people would use it and not smoke in the park.

The park is good with seating and a table and bench seats, I was able to bring my dog and my dad's dog for a visit, which he loved.

One of the nurses took a video of our family greeting dad with his dog, and she said it was the loveliest moment and made her day. She sent us the video, which was just so kind of her.

My dad is an artist, and he has been able to paint while in care, waiting for aged care accommodation.

He has made friends with everyone, and all the nurses love him.

He went in as a 2/10, we were so worried about him, he's almost ready to leave but he can't go home, so they are caring for him until we find respite accommodation for him.

He has to pay each day now, but it's better than the alternative.

We can't thank them enough! ?

I give the Triage nurse and the ladies at the reception of Emergency props - nice, friendly and even willing to make sure my child got to eat after waiting so long (last visit earlier this month). I get it - real emergencies come first, so expected to wait a little.

My main issue is that nearly every time we go there, it's a waste of time, and I get no real answers.
Went there in 2012 when she was a baby - was told to see a doctor. I don't even think they did much, at all.
Went there a few years ago for sleep issues (nowhere else was open) - was given a number to call and told they could fit us in WITHIN THE WEEK, when that place couldn't get us in for several months.
Went earlier this month - waited all day for a doctor who didn't actually look like he wanted to deal with anyone, made me feel horrible for wanting answers, and then decided to leave a needle/device in my daughter's arm for at least 2 hours after taking blood. They even managed not to send the results to the correct medical practice, so now I don't know where the results for the blood tests are. PLUS, there were several ladies I saw who had arrived before my daughter and I, and were still waiting to be treated after we left.

Unless you're going there for a planned surgery - don't waste your time.
You're better off going to a medical centre (Kirrawee or Caringbah are the best ones nearby) and only waiting 2 hours, getting referrals and doing the tests on other days. At least I get answers, and the results go back to the correct Medical Centre.

My wife spent 11hrs in the waiting room as she got there at 9pm and fell asleep in the early hours of the morning and missed her name being called and upon waking checked what was going and her name was taken off the waiting list. After waiting even longer she she got in about 8am. I'm away working but would have been kicked out for abusing them. Absolutely terrible service. You'll die waiting there!!!

Some staff are very unprofessional, rude, judgemental. Some security guards target certain people due to there appearance, which made my daughter so uncomfortable & scared to go to this hospital. Triage nurses can be extremely rude & make u feel worthless and dirty. Security guards can become violent & use unnecessary force due to your appearance. I'd rather be sick at home than go there

One of the worst experiences in a time of a major crisis. The Triage nurse had no idea what she was doing, & reception said there is a 16 hour wait before anyone could see me, she said this so she could turn patients away because it was obviously too much for them to handle. Although the hospital was fully booked with patients they only had 2 doctors on & the nurse at reception was playing solitaire while she tried to explain to me that the government doesn’t pay them enough to care.
I ended up waiting for 7 hours until 6:30am in excruciating pain to only be told that the morning doctors will start at 8:30 and couldn’t see me for another 2 hours.
1 week later I had my toe amputated because I didn’t receive quick enough service from Sutherland Hospital.. My life has completely changed due to their lack of professionalism & empathy & my quality of life is slowly diminishing and I blame Sutherland Hospital. Do not ever go here in your life

Cannot fault the care and attention I received from Nurses and Doctors in the ED.
This was my first time in a public ED in NSW having come from out of state where
The private hospitals have EDs.
The department was very clean and every person who dealt with myself was very kind efficient and respectful.
So I say a very big thank you and I am grateful to you all for the great work you are doing. Your Premier needs to
Give you all a decent payrise.

The staff is great but I stayed in the hospital for 13 hours vomiting, saw 2 nurses and they gave me 2 pills, nothing else!
More than 13 hours to see a doctor is completely ridiculous.
