I am NOT making this up! Everything below is 100% true:
My ex (departed) wife worked there (data-entry) around 1997/'98 and she told me that her and the staff had many unexplained things happening day to day, even in the 'functioning' buildings...
^ I say, 'even', because that's not what interested me (hearsay)...

We went into the abandoned building TWICE and on BOTH occasions heard voices, occasional metallic objects* being dropped, shuffling, moaning and unidentified noises...
ALL TOTALLY UNEXPLAINABLE!
*(& i do NOT mean, normal/expected metal creaking or building parts falling!...I mean small metal objects, like a tool being dropped! - Even so, we found nothing there to explain this!)...

The rooms were awful...Even just in how small they were...
There was definitely no one inside when we were there - We searched thoroughly, besides, it was highly unlikely because of the high fence. Also, one of the times was at night and if someone was doing exactly what we were doing, we would have seen torch lights when we turned ours off and did not.
We were 100% definitely ALONE.

Another very strange thing that day:
We found a METAL bed-pan OUTSIDE the enclosed building, on the outside of the fence, right on the FRESHLY MOWED GRASS!
^ This means it happened that day!
It wasn't there when we started exploring!
Also, It wasn't a modern bed-pan....'Twas definitely weeeeeird!
I'm not claiming anything specific and am not a 'ghost hunter' or into woo-woo but SOMETHING unexplained was 100%, for sure, happening there. I heard it!

Fair warning, there's now a massive fence around 3 meters with barb wire. Then another smaller fences which isn't exactly stable to climb over on top of that.

But we did it with great effort and a few tools πŸ˜‰ you're welcome by the way.

I'd say personally stick clear of this place, its dangerous as hell and I could see someone getting seriously hurt.

So if you proceed (at your own risk) you will need to be fit and DO NOT go alone.

Nothing exactly paranormal happened while we were there, but its more about the history anyways. Happy exploring.

Me and the lads were skeptical of ghosts at first, not until we visited here. It was midnight and we were exploring the abandoned part of the building. On separate accounts we both felt hands grab us by the shoulder and voices from across the building. I don't care wether you believe me or not but trust me, DO NOT GO IN THERE ALONE OR AT NIGHT!!! There is something extremely evil there with intentions to do harm to all those that visit the damn place.

This facility should not allow support agency's to have female support workers supporting males from their facility to access the community, it is a potential DANGER and it's not right. This is a safety issue.

the abandoned part of the hospital is amazing, i would highly recommend going there if u ever get the chance to, just be careful because there aren't any floorboards and i fell through the floor from the second story one time.

The Cassowary Unit of The Park - Centre for Mental Health take great pride separation of the mentally ill from there family and support network in the community, they took away my partner of 4 years from robina hospital in the cover of darkness and without any family consent or involvement, please do not allow you loved ones to become part of this emotional abuse of the mentally ill
