Recently, I had the pleasure of receiving care at Friendlies Emergency Department, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by every staff member I encountered. The doctors and nurses went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well-informed about my treatment. The facilities were modern and spotless. I'm truly grateful for the high-quality care and compassion shown by the team at Friendlies Emergency Department. It's clear that patient satisfaction is their top priority. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking top-notch medical care in a supportive and friendly setting.

Unfortunately, I must contrast this with a previous experience at Bundaberg Emergency Department, where I encountered a less welcoming environment and some uncaring doctors. The difference in the level of care and cleanliness between the two hospitals was quite stark. While I understand that every hospital has its challenges, I hope that Bundaberg Emergency Department can take steps to improve their services and provide a better experience for future patients.

I went to the friendlies today after waiting several hours at the base and I was seen after only 15 minutes! Every single staff member was lovely and the doctor was absolutely amazing, he explained everything to me. I didn't feel rushed or that I was being dramatic, they understood I was in pain and needed help. It is definitely worth the money to go here, I was in and out within 1 and an half hours. Huge thank you to all the staff at the friendlies!!

I attended last night with SOB, eye spasms and a few other minor problems. Upon discussions of discharge I expressed concerns for my eye sight/spasms and my neck spasming, and was told it’s just pregnancy related and to go home and relax. Mind you, this was 10 minutes before closing time. I ended up having to present to the Base hospital, and was triaged and seen immediately. I was diagnosed with severe dystonia, due to a reaction of an antiemetic medication i’ve been taking for morning sickness, and was given a few doses of a medication to relieve the pain.
If the Friendlies had have just listened to my complaint, I would be less traumatised and not have had to deal with extreme pain and discomfort for hours.
The condition I had, was treated very negligently. Upon discharge discussion we asked if my eye and back contractions were from xxxx medication, and we were told definitely not.
It’s incredibly disappointing paying for a private ed, where the standards should be remarkable, and to be ignored and end up at another ED where the condition was diagnosed within a few minutes.

After presenting at the After Hours Clinic last Friday 1.12.2023, at 7:40 p.m. I was told by the receptionist -(with the nurse hiding around the corner advising this poor girl what to say to me). I was instructed to LEAVE and go to the Base Hospital as I had stated I had abdominal pain, they can't deal with that at this hour. They do advertise their hours as 8:00 a.m - 8:00 p.m.
Maybe a name change is due for this poorly run "Unfriendly" excuse for an Emergency Department. And you can have all of this for just $250.00 if they will let you through the door!!!
The Base Hospital were wonderful!!!

I presented to the ED after hurting my hand. Although there was a wait, the staff looked after me even giving me medication and X-rays before I even saw the doctor. The dr then put a plaster on and referred me to a surgeon.Because of the great care I received, an operation was not necessary.Thank you all.

'sorry we're not accepting any new patients today' you can't have an injury today.....what's the point of private health. The whole point of an emergency Dept is it's an emergency. What a crock
