I am posting on behalf of my husband and who is a patient of this practice. We have nothing bad to say about the doctors here but the receptions are completely incompetent.

If you can actually get onto them they are rude and dismissive, don’t answer your questions and take forever to give any messages to the doctors.

My husband needed new scripts called to ask how much it would be and she said it was up to the Dr. she never once said that the minimum payment was $250. Just to get a repeat script. After arguing with her on the phone about this she just hangs up on you. We didn’t have $250 and we rang the week before the appointment to find out a price for this reason. Yes you get a lot back from Medicare but you need that amount upfront and we just asked her why she didn’t say they when we asked.

It then took us a few days to make the payment (it was a Telehealth with a Dr who owner actually my husbands Dr) but we couldn’t get the scripts until it was paid. We then paid it and it has now been two days and we have no reciept to claim the Medicare and no script so my husband is without his meds!!

Then he asked to get an appointment with his doctor as he will need his meds adjusted (the Telehealth with this other Dr was meant to be about changing the meds if needed) and the receptionist said oh no your original Dr is booked out for over a year!

How can you have no spots? How is my husbands care meant to be maintained He can’t even get an appointment to adjust meds? So they have taken money for an appointment that was meant to be to get a new script and adjust meds if needed and that didn’t happen, so now he will have to just hold out with his current meds for a year!

You ask to be put on a wait list and she says oh no one will cancel so I don’t like your chances.

Such a rude receptionist, these ladies should be caring and empathetic, they are meant to be helping people not making their lives harder and more stressful!

I could rant for hours about them. But hopefully they get some new people in to run their front desk.

I’ve been a patient of this practice for 8 years, 2 Psychiatrists and a Psychologist.
I’m not an easy patient. I forget appointments, I lose my medication, sometimes I can’t cope and need my doctor on short notice.
They have ALWAYS been there for me. Sometimes they are really busy and I start wondering if they have forgotten- but I will always get a call- it’s just that my doctor is that busy.
He rarely takes holidays. He starts work at 7:30am, doesn’t leave until after dark 5 days a week and is normally there on Saturdays too.
Maybe at times the reception isn’t perfect, but they do not deserve these negative reviews.
We are all human. The reception are superhuman for the workload they cope with. What these amazing humans do, given the work load they handle, is incredible. They never make me feel like I’m a waste of time. Of course over the years, they have forgotten to send an email receipt or forgotten to remind me about making my next appointment. But all in all, every person at this practice, including the reception have been a constant in my life and have provided excellent care.
This clinic handles an overload of patients, given excellent psychiatric care and quality psychology care is so rare to find in Australia. My psychiatrist for example, books 9 months in advance even for me, a long standing patient. That’s a reflection of his work load.
Let’s not forget he also has a family and a life. He’s given the majority of that to helping his patients, just like me.
I have dealt with previous clinics but have never found such quality care.
I will forever be indebted to the Evandale practice.

Out of the 28 negative reviews this practice has here on google, 26 of those are regarding the unacceptable mannerisms of the reception staff. The receptionist I just spoke with was disorganised, impolite, and flat out refused to complete a basic and very overdue administrative task. When I forwarded her an email showing this request was made quite some time ago, she told me she doesn’t check the emails every day and be patient. It’s very disappointing that years of customer feedback has been ignored. The Drs here are excellent, their bad reputation is due to the rudeness of reception. I hope the doctors of this practice take this feedback on board, because they know the kind of things their clients are dealing with in their personal lives, and shouldn’t be forced to deal with reception staff who consistently fail at basic manners. All callers have a right to be treated with dignity and respect.

After waiting 6 months or so to see Dr. Graham, I finally had my appointment and waited an hour to see her. As a pregnant woman I had genuine questions about safe medication I could use for my issue, however because I basically had a talk therapy appointment we ran out of time and I was rushed out like I was in a drive through line with no consideration of the time I had waited and the fact that I had medication questions. I then proceeded to try and book a follow up appointment as directed by Dr Graham but the receptionists said there was absolutely nothing available and they could put me on a waiting list. As someone who had been on a waiting list for 6 months I knew this call would never come. Paying $630 (more then I was quoted) to receive no answers about health concerns relating to pregnancy. I am completely disturbed at how this practice can accept new clients, take $630 and have absolutely no plan on how to give consistent on going care to patients who have invested their time and money into going there. This is money down the drain for me, I have a psychologist but now I have paid $630 for another psychology appointment and unless I want to book another appointment for 6 months away and explain everything to the psychiatrist again due to another long wait, this is just hard earned money wasted. I will be going to AHPRA and any relevant medical board to express my concerns about these medical practitioners who are unethically taking money without having an ongoing plan or capacity to manage their care. The reception staff are so incredibly inept but also seem completely overwhelmed at their task of actually trying to fit clients into the calendar. This business is concerning and must be a very stressful environment to work in, which is ironic. I believe the organisation and running of this practice is an accurate reflection of their ability to manage patient care. There are many reviews here that evidence people here are in need of help but are being taken advantage of financially with out the duty of care from a practitioner and well run business. A classic example of a high demand profession taking advantage of normal people in desperate need of a service.

I’ve been coming here for 4 years Rude reception, this morning called from 8am took 2 hours for someone to answer. Then wanting me to book another appointment. When the doctor said otherwise back on the third of December it just seems like there trying to scam money form u.
Nothing bad to say about doctor braganza. Just the reception are useless. Never answer your better off going in person.

This was from 2022, however, this is just a warning as going here affected my mental health gravely. Dr Karen, listened to my situation and seemed nice enough. When I later relayed that my psychologist thought i had other issues besides my diagnosis, she laughed and said “no” smiling. I, a very distressed teenager at the time started crying to which she said “What? do you want to have that?” with a mocking tone, making me feel belittled and humiliated for even saying that. This was something she said not even 10 minutes after i had told her how troubling and effective my deteriorating mental health was. So, I got what i needed from her but have 0 respect for her practise and genuinely reflect on it often when regarding how far i’ve come. Truely as someone who works with people who have mental health issues , she’s seriously out of touch and i couldn’t recommend her less especially if you are someone who is sensitive or even just going through a tough time because there is 0 remorse or any reflection in her work. Such a shame and definitely could’ve ended differently if my physiologist (different clinic) wasn’t a beautiful support. Boo 🍅🍅🍅🍅

It really is a shame for the great psychiatrists here but the reception is just so poor. Nearly every time I call it’s straight to hold with no answer for 5-10+ minutes. I called and was for the first time answered but put on hold straight away so I decided to go in clinic and speak the reception myself. I spoke with the receptionist for a minute and my query was still not fulfilled which she did not care about. While staring at me as I asked a simple question she answers a call and dismisses me to leave. This was really rude customer service so I picked up my paper I left on the desk flustered and left crying. I still needed my query answered so I went back in to speak to someone else who was a typewriter so she couldn’t really answer my query. As I was leaving I told this reception she was rude and I didn’t deserve to be spoken to the way she had and left literally crying. She sat there and argued with me rather than acknowledging what I had to say professionally. The psychiatrists are amazing but the reception seems to constantly drop the quality of service here.
Update: I made a complaint about what happened to me here and turns out this was the owner that treated me like this. Go figure nearly everyone has a poor experience here.
