I can't recommend The BMI Clinic in Double Bay highly enough. I have been struggling with weight issues for about 10 years as I've gotten older. I also developed a few health issues that came with them. Dr. Rattan booked me in for an endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty after going through all the different options. I initially wanted a balloon. I was advised the sleeve was my best option with less complications. Prior to the procedure an endoscopic exam showed I had issues that needed to be fixed before I could have the surgery. I worked with the Dietitian and Dr. Rattan and the issues were resolved. Once the issues were resolved I was able to have the procedure. It was a complete success and I now feel amazing. I have lost a total of 15kg's in a month and will lose approximately a kilo a week until I reach my optimum weight. The BMI Clinic also has programs with Dietitian's, Exercise Physiologist's and Behavioural Coaches to help with my weight loss journey. The nurses and reception staff are always there with help as well and are truly the nicest people. I'm being taught a new way of not only eating but living longer. 5 stars to the staff of The BMI Clinic. Thank you!

The doctor was running 40 minutes late for the appointment. I approached the receptionist to politely ask how much longer it would be and explain that I couldn’t wait much longer due to other commitment’s. This receptionist was incredibly condescending and rude and kept repeating that this was just the nature of seeing a specialist. We may be foreigners but we’re not complete idiots. Good work.

I had a gastric balloon inserted in September 2020, and can confirm it did its job. The procedure itself was easy and the nurses in Melbourne truly help in following up after insertion / removal. However I found their dietician lacking (she just told me to eat till I was full and wouldn't give me a calorie goal to work towards, even knowing history of overeating / binging). Their website says you can drink in moderation, however both the bariatric surgeons say you absolutely should not drink and try and make you feel bad for "empty calories".

It seems ... a bit money grabby. Even after losing nearly 30kg, literally as I was being put to sleep to have it removed, the gastric surgeon told me to "let her know if I wanted another one put in at a later date." I had two follow up appointments before and after removal which I personally didn't want, but was required to have and was going to be charged $180 for each 10 minute consultation. I was not made aware of these fees before the appointments, and ended up being bulk billed for them, but make sure you are aware of any hidden fees because they will make it your problem, as it's "not part of your contract."

From the first moment I stepped into The BMI Clinic, I was met with beautiful smiling, friendly faces. In the two- and a-bit years since that first visit, I have encountered so much encouragement from every person I have had dealings with, from the people at reception, the nurses, specialists and Dr Adrian Sartorello himself.

I live 4 and a half hours away from the clinic so there have been times when I have needed to see the nurse, dietitian, behavioral psychologist, exercise physiotherapist and Dr Sartorello all in the space of one or two days and they have always been able to accommodate my requirements.

Since November 2017 I have lost well over 50kgs and I owe a great deal of my achievements to the support of this amazing team of people.

Very disappointed with the service. I arrived 10 mins before closure for a regular blood test, the lady attending mentioned that she had closed her computer as a request from her manager and no more test will be performed. She suggested to go to Bondi, and that will take take 2 more hours of my day due to the fact that this clinic does not respect the timing included on the website.

My wife and I had the Apsire Assist inserted a little over two years ago (Nov 2017) by Dr Adrian Sartoretto and team. They have been with us for our whole weight loss journey, making sure that we have never felt alone through any part of this new life-style.

Because we live 4.5 hours away from the clinic, the team have made themselves available through phone calls, emails, even offering Skype and Facetime Chats as alternatives. When we do make the trip in for clinic visits, they make us feel so welcome and empowered – like we had achieved great things by losing weight. We are never treated like a number but like valued people.

One of the most wonderful things about the staff at the BMI clinic is that they ALL make it a point to smile and say “Hi. You’re looking well”

Having a procedure at The BMI Clinic was easily THE BEST decision I have made regarding my health and weight to date. I'm 42yo and have battled with my weight since my twenties. I have a bad back and despite exercising like a maniac, the weight stayed on. I had tried *everything* except a balloon. Now I have, I have to tell anyone considering it to absolutely do it. Is it easy? No. Is it better than spending another 10 years and another few thousand dollars on things that don't work? YES! The BMI Clinic have been thorough, gentle and have displayed wonderful customer service from the beginning (and I'm an RN so am a hard customer to please when it comes to healthcare)! I'm currently 5 months in, 10kgs down (I had 15 -20kgs to lose) and I'm hopeful for the future, but know I'm in good hands with the BMI Clinic staff.

Just had a gastricballon put in a week ago and i am extremely happy with it as the results with weight loss have been amazing i would recommend doctor adrian and the staff highly but there written commuincatin with people who come to the clinic needs to be improved as i have recived some very rude and thiretaining messages on my phone twice via text and my mum has recevid a threatening email witch was very unprofessional in the mannor it was sent and dealt with when mum called the cilinic the lady was extremely rude and disrespectful. Witch upset me that somone would be like this and there was a spelling mistake on the website's page with the word silver it was incorrectly spelt for futre clients please fix this. Ben is so kind and attentive hes an asset to the staff
