I have been coming here for my whole life since my parents brought me here as a baby and for 25 years it’s been fine. Ever since they’ve had these new HORRIBLE RUDE reception staff come on in the past year it’s been a joke of a facility. They are nothing but rude and with no respect for returning patients. I had to go in and pay $80 for a 5 minute consult and a test and then I have been told I have to pay another $80 for the results! What an ABSOLUTE JOKE. You’d think they’d have a bit of leeway for people who have been coming here for years. I will not be returning here ever again. They need to sack the reception staff. My mother, father and brother don’t return here either for the same problems and now I’m finally following them.

EDIT TO RESPOND TO THE OWNER COMMENT:

I booked to see doctor V and no one told me that he was finishing up on that day. So your comment about seeing the GP for the results is redundant because he was no longer at the practice. For this inconvenience I should have been allowed to get my results bulk billed. It’s not my fault he’s not there anymore and I have to pay another doctor to get my results. $160 for some test results on bloodwork is a joke.

I will never go here again, I think it's a blessing they weren't taking on new patients and it was a one off appointment. The doctors don't listen to your concerns and then make fun of you, Infront of you. Appalling. I'm glad I got a second opinion, it turns out the issue my child had was serious and I had every right to be as concerned as I was.

I cannot fault this practice. I rushed my 3 year old here on a Friday afternoon with a suspected spider bite (at the advice of Poisons Info who advised GP rather than busy emergency room). I was turned away by the receptionist at her regular practice (which I won’t name) as they had no appointments. The Bay Medical was also booked out, however the very helpful receptionist ensured we saw both the nurse (David) who was wonderful, and the doctor (I apologise, I didn’t catch her name in my heightened state) who was just as wonderful. I will now be bringing my daughter to this practice in future. I can’t thank you enough.

I feel like it's actually a policy to entrap people who need a bulk billing Doctor into coming here and paying. Was told on the phone that morning that if I had a health care card the appointment would be bulk billed.When mentioned this the receptionist acted confused and said no we only bulk bill for children under16. I'm $87 out of pocket and it completely disrupted my life as I need it for accommodation. Was told I would get rebate in a couple hours, another lie. Shame on these receptionists for entraping people that can't afford it to pay full price. I've given 2 stars because the doctor was thorough and great to talk to and probably unaware of what goes on at reception.

The entire family will never use this facility ever again. Not only have every one of the best doctors left, relocated or retired in the last 12 months. The "new" doctors will NOT bulk bill on subsequent or follow up appointments now even if no prescription are given. This is a blatant rort of people who are expecting to be bulk billed for follow up appts. Very disappointing. Take your business elsewhere.

Excellent place. Receptionists have a lot of patience and remain calm, kind and collected - very impressed. Doctors are genuine and it feels like they actually care about you. I have now made the permanent switch from Moreton Medical Centre at the Deception Bay shopping centre who were the exact opposite. Well done The Bay Family Medical Centre!

I am so glad we found this practice! Ann was so incredibly lovely and helpful and our Doctor was so lovely and knowledgeable. With a young baby it’s been hit and miss and we have finally found somewhere we like that’s close to home also :). Highly recommended!

I cannot rate this medical enough. I’ve been going here since a child & now take my family here too. Although it’s often busy and you’ll need to book ahead I highly recommend Dr Varlan she is incredible. Kind hearted, empathetic & extremely knowledgeable.
