Great service starting with the admin ladies who were friendly and well informed. They got back to me within a couple of days and we were able to make an initial appointment within the fortnight. My psychologist provided such amazing support all the way through. I feel so much better and more in control of my life. I highly recommend this service and I'm so appreciative. Thanks Takes Care!

The team at Takes Care Specialist Centre are fantastic! The administration staff were helpful, informative and accomodating when I had to reschedule an appointment. The Specialist that I saw within the centre was professional, kind and provided me with the information I needed at the end of the appointment. The beautiful centre doggy also helped put my nerves at ease with lots of attention before I went into my appointment. Would absolutely recommend to others.

I was referred to 'Takes Care' (not) in early/mid July. In addition to the GP referral, I called and was told that there was a 4 month wait, but books were open, and I would hear from them within the week. Fast forward to the end of July when I again followed up because I had heard nothing from them and this time I also re-emailed the referral. Again, nothing. In mid August I called once more and was informed that they 'couldn't find' my referral. After a while, it was found and I was again told I'd hear back in a day or two. Today (22/08) I called again after not hearing back and was told, 'Sorry, the Doctor has denied your referrral.' No communication at all....just completely ignored with not one word of communication.
'Takes Care'? Of what? Certainly not the mental health of those referred to them for care. Communication is the most simple and basic responsibility of not only any business, but most certainly any business focused on the mental health of vulnerable people. What a complete and utter lack of decency, courtesy and basic human respect to just leave people with mental health referrals rotting while they wait for a never to come courtesy phone call.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS

I sent through my GP referral letter requesting an appointment with Dr Goki via email to Takes Care Specialist Centre and did not receive a response for weeks. I called to follow up and the staff member seemed rather annoyed by the phone call and said that they were busy and she would not be able to tell me when they could get back to me.

Over 3 weeks after calling the clinic I received a phone call to say a different psychiatrist within the clinic has accepted my referral letter (which was specifically addressed to Dr Goki) and that an appointment could be scheduled. I asked if Dr Goki accepted my referral letter and was told he has not seen it. I asked why he did not receive my referral letter to which I did not get a response other than to take this other appointment. I asked again if he could see my referral letter and it took over a month from sending my referral letter via email and follow up phone calls before Dr Goki received the referral letter.

After the referral letter was accepted by him, the next available appointment was in 3 months’ time. After this initial consultation, I required a medical file for my follow up appointment. I had filled out the paperwork at the end of my initial consultation, however it was not correct so I received a call from the clinic weeks later and they sent the form to which I filled out straight away and sent back that day.

Two days prior to the follow up appointment the clinic called me to say they have not received the file and would have to cancel if it does not come through prior to the scheduled appointment. I asked if they contacted directly to follow up regarding my medical file to which they said no. I called myself after receiving this news only to find out it was sent to Takes Care Specialist Centre the week prior. I called Takes Care Specialist Centre back to inform them it was already sent out last week and the lady laughed and said “oh yes I found it”. After this encounter I sent them an email to say how frustrating the process has been from trying to make an initial consultation to the phone call just received saying they will cancel the appointment, yet they didn’t even bother reaching out directly to follow up or look at their inbox as it was already received by the time they called me.

For my follow up appointment, the first 10 minutes Dr Goki lectured me regarding how I had treated his administration staff and that it wasn’t acceptable.

After the second appointment I cancelled my follow up appointment and reached out to 5 different clinics, all of which responded back to me via email or phone call within two business days advising if they had availability or not.

Overall, the entire experience with Takes Care Specialist Centre was horrendous and I am genuinely shocked by their attitudes and the level of unprofessionalism and rudeness encountered.

I recently found out another young female had a terrible experience and is putting through an official complaint. Earlier in the year, the clinic had apologised to me and said they would do better for future patients. This clearly isn’t the case which has prompted me to make this public complaint.
