Voluntarily admitted myself, stayed for 3 or 4 nights. Staff I dealt with were understanding and helpful, although they were a bit busy if you are patient you will get all the right help. I was put on the right medication and linked in with support after discharge, and I was extremely happy with the food. Overall I was actually happy with my stay contrary to other reviews. Don't be afraid to reach out for help ❤️

Full of junkies, rapists and some of the nursing staff are abusive, cold and have no empathy. Given dog food, treated like trash and overall an awful experience. Do not recommend for therapeutic purposes.

I hope this puts pressure on financial support for change. Negative this support can heal and also cause harm. I wasn’t told I had ptsd in 2019 when I had an admission and it took til 2023 approx to finally get diagnosed with CPTSD where I am recovering well as I have went private at my own expense. Positive I advocated I would like to play sport whilst healing and this was approved and had great success in my healing. I really feel for the workers in this space as this is more of a system problem not a people problem. The people whilst in there I believe did a great job and made mistakes as were humans we do this my concerns are on the outdated processes and lack of insight what a person can go through in this process as the environment felt like a prison and made myself feel very uncomfortable such as the interview room was very similar to a police setting. Barwon Health runs the Swanston Centre. And Barwon Health have some of thee worst staff i've ever had to talk to...

From ADHD or ASD just being a form of laziness, to telling patients who're struggling they're not going to help them, when they can help themselves. To people in crisis.

Zero stuffs, rude, hostile and obviously going through burnout. These nurses, receptionists and case managers simply don't care.

This place are responsible for killing my sister. There is no love. No compassion. There is no recognition of the pain patients are in. All that matters is paperwork and doling out medication (or refusing to recognise the need for medication). It's worse than a prison. Prisoners are given soap. Prisoners are supplied towels or facewashers. Prisoners are provided SOMETHING to pass the time. This place needs to be burnt to the ground. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

This is a place that kills you faster instead of healing. Worse psyc ward I have ever been to. Unfriendly staff. More like imprisonment than a hospital
