I was in 10 days ago after major surgery. Extremely well care for by Staff and a variety of doctors who spent time explaining next step. Will be back again this Wednesday and have no worries about service and care. Expect it will be excellent.

Henry is absolutely amazing, I genuinely HATE needles but he made it seamless and pain free. Great personality and knows exactly what he’s doing. Hands down “best needle person” i’ve ever had. Cheers mate

I had a spinal surgery at SCUPH. Excellent doctors- neurosurgeon Dr Michael Bryant, anaesthetist Dr Rob Lattik, his assistance nurse Johnno, surgical assistant Sarah- all were professional, caring and experienced. I also want to say thank you to the nursing staff on the night of the 4/10/24- Kim and Olivia. They were diligent, hardworking, organized, made me feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations. The meal ladies were also lovely. Thank you so much to all.

Do not go here. My husband sent to surgery with no prep. Leg unshaved for a total knee replacement. Came back from op and ice bucket was not hooked up for 4 hours
The machine was sitting there excuse was there is no power point?
. No procedures in place for knee replacement at all. Still no OT to get him out of bed. No machine in bed to move knee. An absolute disgrace. Hospital not set up for this type of surgery. No one cares or takes responsibility for the patient. He was sitting in urine for 40 minutes. No nurse would answer the bell. Wound started bleeding profusely in the shower. This hospital is understaffed with no procedural care nor commitment to quality patient care. The patient should come first.

My 92 year old father was a patient this week, in for a partial amputation of his big toe. The check in staff/ nurses were absolutely fantastic......BUT unfortunately the nurse who checked him out was so absolutely rude, impatient, pushy & condescending it was beyond belief.
Thank God she doesn't work in aged care!!!
My father was a patient in this hospital 10 years ago & the service was wonderful, but it seems to have unfortunately gone down hill. Severely disappointed & would definitely NOT be my first choice in the future.

Dr Dion Noovao. is titled as distinguished Orthopaedic Surgeon. This was not my experience after 4 failed surgeries. His paperwork and after op care is best rated as lousy. He has no set care to follow after surgery no Physio no rehab just wait and see and if all goes south he scheduled follow up appointments 3 months apart. With no alternatives. Distinguished far from it.

I recently spent 16 days at SCUPH and had nothing but total professional and friendly care. Health care workers are a totally different breed of humans. You have my total respect.
Thank you.

My wife went in yesterday for a surgery. Her entry time was 0830, with an expected surgery time of 1030 and an expected 2hr procedure. The first I heard about how anything went was when my wife called me at 1630. At this time I had been sitting at the hospital waiting for news for over an hour. The lack of communication from this hospital is disgraceful. We were too busy is not an excuse, it takes 30 seconds to pick up the phone and say “all went well, she is expected to be out of recovery around 4pm”

This is a private hospital, we are paying our hard earned money for a higher standard of service, and to spend my day stressing about my wife because nobody could be bothered picking up the phone is not even close to good enough.

Don’t bother going here, there are plenty of other places that might give you something resembling service for the thousands of dollars you pay for 24hrs of care.
