Hi,

My wife and I had a brilliant experience this morning on a public holiday at the urgent care clinic. We had to take in our sick baby boy. We were triaged and then seen promptly. All the staff were exceptional! It’s amazing to have such a facility available to the public. I would definitely recommend that if anybody ever needs urgent care to attend. The professionalism and knowledge from the nurses and doctor today was also outstanding. The clinic was very clean and tidy as well!

Such a great alternative to an emergency room. Needless to say, you can expect a wait if there are other patients before you, but the number of disgruntled people who complained in the time we were there was so appalling. I felt very sorry for the staff who were clearly doing the best they could. The nurses & doctors were professional and juggled the demands of the day with such grace and efficiency. There are plenty of free street parking and the service was completely bulk billed.

Great service for scenarios that require care urgently that are not emergencies. Lovely staff, communicated well around expected wait times and clearly very skilled at what they do.

Expect to be triaged - similar experience to an emergency department where you are seen on basis of urgency rather than the time you arrive. I attended at 8pm on a weeknight and there was one nurse and one doctor on shift. They worked as quickly as they could to see to all patients needs.

Really good experience. My issue was urgent but not an emergency, so I was triaged accordingly. I was there for maybe 2 hours, which I thought reasonable as there were more important patients that needed to be seen first. Good care, professional staff, free on-site parking - I would use this service again.

Zero stars. Was turned away on Friday night with a possible snake bit/ spider bite due to the UCC being at capacity. The one staff member in the room was the disinterested receptionist who told me this. I showed her the bite mark. She told me they couldn’t help me. The lack of duty of care and potential for serious harm as a result of this not being looked at immediately is clear.

I ended up in hospital with blood tests confirming elevated KC levels of concern. This clinic would have sent me away to die.

I called the practice manager hours ago and wasn’t put through. They haven’t called me back.

This is not HEALTH CARE to be proud of. Not even a demonstrable level of duty of care exampled.

Better to go to the hospital. This space has turned me away twice before this because “at capacity”. Refusing to call an ambulance for anyone.

On Friday night, they had four people waiting and about twenty empty seats. And a very bored looking receptionist who clearly doesn’t understand human rights or duty of care.

This is where duty of care appears to go to die.

I have been contacted by the UCC and advised I wrote this review on the Cornwall Medical Centre’s site and not the correct site - the Doctor who called me was lively and respectful and acknowledged the system was wrong to treat anyone like this. There are procedures in place that should alleviate this in future. You could still use them - though there are many cases where just going straight to an emergency would be a far wiser decision.

Our government would have been better off fully funding GPs to look after bulk billed patients instead of this waste of public money and nursing and hospital staff.

Pathetically and dangerously negligent in this experience.

They have been helpful on a couple of occasions, but if it’s urgent - there’s a chance they’re not the right place to be. 😔

We visited this urgent care clinic after an accident at Kindy - arriving after 5pm on a weekday. Anna, the receptionist, was brilliant and made sure we felt at ease from the moment we arrived. Kirsty is the brightest, most generous and patient nurse I have ever encountered. She asked questions to my daughter and listened to her answers. She actively engaged with her and got clinically relevant information, allowing my child to feel empowered and confident in what could have been a scary situation. Dr John clearly respects his team and trusts them to do their jobs well - which they do. He was personable and effective in his care. We were there for less than an hour, and left with all the information we need, and a little lady who was all bandaged up. This clinic bulk bills, and validates parking (if required). It is a testament to public health. I am so grateful for the experience we had.

I had a horrible experience at the clinic. After my accident, the staff showed no empathy and simply told me there was nothing to worry about, then sent me home. I didn't feel right about it, so I went to another urgent care clinic, where they took my concerns seriously, gave me an X-ray, provided an injection, and medication.

Not sure I understand the purpose of such a large facility. A huge empty waiting room with two people is at capacity apparently? We called 13 help who advised us to see a GP within 4 hours and try urgent care...we waited for triage to find out there are no scanners here and there's a poster saying they can't treat severe abdominal pain. Walk 10 mins round the corner to ED. Its confusing what the point of this facility is.
