Not sure why a medical takes over 3 hrs to be completed, most of which is waiting time. Staff didn’t seem busy or in a hurry but happy to let everyone sit in the waiting room for an unnecessary amount of time. Medicals do not need to take this long, they could be saving themselves and everyone else time. Would not recommend going here

I was seen by a temporary doctor, he seemed overworked and in a foul mood. I wasn’t 100% so I was sent away to get a report from my gp, then other information was requested and subsequently presented. Every time they see me, ask for info, read the info, or generate a report, my employer cops a $500 bill. It’s now 6 weeks later, $2000 in bills, $12000 in my lost earnings and I don’t seem any closer to going back to the job that I was competently performing before I ever crossed paths with this lot. I hope you have a better experience then I did

Having a pre-employment medical completed, been here 3.5hrs and have now been waiting 50mins to see the Doctor. If I knew I’d be here this long I would have brought lunch with me.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a medical facility. If your workplace or insurer books you here, I recommend you request to go somewhere else. You’re highly likely to be left out like many of these other reviews.

My employer didn’t receive results to my tests for 4 weeks. I was on the phone to the centre 9 times and was left feeling frustrated, lied to and appalled after each encounter

Janette/Annette needs to quit or be moved on. She is hands down the most hostile, rude and unhelpful receptionist I’ve ever dealt with. Her colleagues appear intimidated to ask her questions as she’s one of the senior receptionists.

The other 2 receptionists I dealt with were 3 stars for the lady and 2 stars for the male. Both unable to provide help for files I was requesting and openly lied about ā€œsending results to my emailā€ or ā€œI will chase that up for youā€. When I followed- up to ask where the files were, there was another excuse lined up.

The sonic health setup the receptionists are working in is appalling too. They are unable to provide results to patients without a doctors permission (the centre had zero doctors working this week), they can’t provide data due to privacy concerns (I requested data for my 1 yr old son but was unable to get anything because they needed to speak to him… he can’t say words yet) and they mail results to letterboxes four weeks after they’re in (results which anyone can open, there goes your privacy concerns).

I've recently been for a pre-employment medical at Sonic, the staff were friendly, however the rest of my experience was awful. There was no parking anywhere around the facility, the service was inefficient and the examination far too intensive. The second doctor was also quite rude and kept interrupting my responses to her questions. Upon completing the medical (2 hours later) I was told the results should be sent to my employer soon, my employer didn't receive these results for over 3 weeks, as a result I couldn't begin my new job before the end of the year, and instead will have to begin a month later than expected.
To any potential employers looking for this service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Look at the reviews…. It's a good guide on what to expect…. Don’t waste your time or money on incompetence, the nurse that done my glucose urine test held the strip straight up and down not sideways like your meant to…. so the dark green at the top ran through the other two lighter colours and made them all dark showing I had diabetes, then proceeded too give me a finger prick blood test on a machine that she said are inaccurate, only to tell me my sugar is high, I had an independent blood test done by a competent person only to tell me my blood sugar is normal, they cost me time and money because of their incompetence…thankfully the mine I was going to work for were understanding and had heard of this same thing from sonic health plus numerous times before, so if you need a medical done go to a competent and real company that has your best interest at heart, not one that is all for the money, sincerely Matt Poulter

Dr gabathuse is the most unprofessional & uneducated doctor I’ve ever come across, for those of you in Newcastle make the effort and go to Sydney cbd sonic health plus. Much more professional and polite.
Not to mention your practice is disgustingly dirty.

All the staff were great. The medical assessment takes about 3 hours give or take. The referral company said it would only be a hour and 15 min. They lie. Masks are required so you may want to bring your own. Especially for the eye test. Also parking is limited. I was lucky I didn't get a ticket in the 2 hour spot I was parked in. You will not be permitted to leave if you have not completed the drug test. So make sure you are ready so you can have the option to move your car.

Go up
