A couple of years ago I chipped a tiny filling that left a razor‑sharp edge slicing into my tongue. I’d avoided dentists for years—pure fear—but the pain finally forced me to act. From the moment I walked into Smiles R Us, the front‑desk team made me feel genuinely welcome and safe, even amid strict COVID protocols.

Dr Carine Maxwell was my lifesaver. I opened up about my dental anxiety and she truly listened. Together we built a step‑by‑step plan: first fix the chip, then tackle anything else needed to keep my teeth and gums healthy. Her patience, kindness, and gentle explanations turned each visit from a dread‑filled ordeal into a partnership I could trust.

That partnership now includes the brilliant hygienist Elisha Daly. My teeth are extremely sensitive, yet Elisha works at my pace, checking in constantly and somehow sending me out the door with a pain‑free sparkle every six months.

With my confidence restored, I even dared to ask what else was possible—and I’m now straightening my teeth with clear aligners, something I never imagined I’d consider.

Our 3 children have been visiting Smiles are us for many years. My two older children have needed braces/invisalign. Elisha has been seeing my children for a while. She decided to remove a few of my son's baby teeth to create room. Approx.18 months later he no longer has a cross bite or crowding. He will also not medically require braces. I am so grateful for the preventative action Elisha took. She is a true gem with a kind and caring approach.

Thank you Peter so much for helping me with my very sore tooth, I can’t explain the pain I had it made me cry! 2 days later I can finally chew the infection seems to have gone. Let’s face it no one likes going to the dentist and after a bad experience a few years ago with my previous dentist I was feeling nervous but the team at Smiles R Us were fantastic. Peter took the time to explain everything, both he and his assistant Eva went out of their way to make me feel at ease and after the initial injection my tooth extraction was completely pain free. Really affordable too with extras cover - only $70 out of pocket!
