Finding myself unwell on the public holiday weekend, I used the option to text Selby Family Clinic after hours mobile number. While the clinic was fully booked on Saturday morning, I was given an appointment after the clinic hours. The diagnosis was thorough and medication, while cautionary, certainly relieved my symptoms and perhaps averted a worsening condition. The excellent customer focus was greatly appreciated.

I have been attending selby medical clinic for 20 years. The doctors are always first class. It's a caring practice, where they put people first, unlike other practices that are run like a business. The nursing staff are great, and do not hesitate to consult with a doctor where your health is concerned. The sister clinic at Monbulk is a great link allowing the swapping of information between the two which allows for more patient options.

I have found over the last 15+ years of attending that all the doctors at Selby are incredibly kind and go farther than they need to, to look after me, my husband and 2 foster girls they treated over 5 years. The reception staff are also lovely. Sometimes you do have to wait, but this is because the doctors listen and don't push you out the door.

The doctors & nurse are great, however, the recent decision to no longer bulk bill Health Care Card holders is really disappointing.
We had been waiting for a referral for my daughter to see a specialist to have a medical procedure done but the receptionist advised me that she was “told not release the referral until the $60 Telehealth fee was paid”. What the?! My daughter is on a Health Care Card and was being bulk billed and nobody mentioned that they will no longer bulk bill her. This just felt like extortion & like they are just putting money ahead of their patients’ actual health care. To withhold a medical referral for a Telehealth payment is pretty petty given we had been going there for 17 years! It’s not like we were new patients or had any history of not paying bills.
I called later to see if they would consider bulk billing my daughter in future given she is on a Health Care Card only to be told by the receptionist that she won’t ask the doctor and that my daughter can ask the doctor herself. All I wanted was for the receptionist to leave a note or email the doctor but she basically refused. We are sad to change to another clinic but this has all just left a really bad impression on us.

I have not been here for some time and although I do like the doctors, the wait times and the full charge for children is what has put me off. I had an appointment a week in advance and arrived and had to leave after waiting 40 minutes to collect my children with no real solid idea on when I would actually be seen.
Contrast to Mount Medical Belgrave, further from home who I saw recently also, came to my car within 15 minutes, took me inside - and because the appointment was extremely brief they did not charge at all. Mount Medical also bulk bill for children and were/are generally kinder and more caring and less business-like.

I’ve sadly moved away from the area but I very much miss the Selby family clinic doctors, nurses and receptionists. It is a lovely practice where you’re known by all and can build a trusting patient-practitioner relationship. Thank you for your outstanding care

I hadn't been to the clinic for some time and then a call came saying I should make a booking with regards to a letter they received. So I make a booking and after a lot of talk and trying to find a time to come in where the doctor was able to see me, I was reminded of the large fees for a Saturday consult. I agreed - then on the day it was cancelled and this was after a 2-month wait.
Then they book me in on another day to which I had not agreed to and I get a text to say I had an appointment during the week where I couldn't attend! I called and they refused to discuss it with me but suggested an appointment over the phone to talk about the letter...I asked if I had to pay for this to find out about this letter and could I have the letter. Then they said it was addressed to the doctor and not me and that the doctor will advise if they will charge me or not. This is appalling.

Fantastic clinic with doctors who actually care and are invested in their patients wellbeing. I make sure I book in advance so that I can see my regular doctor but I’m happy to see any of the GP’s.
