This is an amazing unspoiled area in beautiful surroundings|. It is off the beaten track, it is about 3kms of gravel road before you see the Rosegums sign. |I am so glad we arrived during daylight or i would definitely have thought we were lost.| There is no phone reception or internet in the tree houses. | To be honest it is just what we needed after over three weeks constantly travelling. We met Dave at the reception and he gave us our house key (no. 7) , he also gave us maps of the area and also some advice. He even helped me to see my first cassawary .|The houses are well spaced and you may never see or hear your nearest neighbour.|We were upgraded to a two bedroomed house. It was really well equipped full kitchen, Bathroom/ shower Jacuzzi bath plus toiletries. Laundry facilities even laundry powder. |On arrival there is a breakfast pack in the fridge for the first morning 4xeggs, cereal, milk, bread spreads, butter, juice. There are no restaurants or shops nearby so i would advise doing a shop before arrival. I had picked up some steaks veg etc . There is also a BBQ if you want to cook outdoors.|There is also a stove and timber for those visiting during colder months.|There are a number of walks / hikes to do on the property or if you want there are a number of beautiful lakes nearby you can visit.| Lake Echam is about 10 km from Rosegums and is a 3km walk around. This lake is very popular for swimming in and even has its own resident crocodile. There is seating for picnics here also toilets. |Every morning around 8am Dave feeds the little Parrots and also the musky rats so you get to see these creatures up close in their natural surroundings.| We had a great stay at Rosegums , Thank you Dave for everything.|Marylin and David Barry. This was one of the best stays we had on our 3 week travel in Australia. We stayed for 2 nights and stocked up to ensure we were cut off from everything and enjoyed 2 full days of doing next to nothing. We bought food to BBQ which we enjoyed on the balcony/veranda area. The check in was flawless and was informed due to a wet season there would be leeches lying in wait. We were advised to wear thick socks and to tuck long pants into them if we were to follow the trails. We followed the trail to see one of the waterfalls but 15 minutes into the walk Iโ€™d had enough of flicking leeches off us I headed back. When my partner returned heโ€™d had leeches weave into his boots and have good feeding session on his feet. We did not get to see a cassowary but listening to the tranquil sounds throughout the day and night were just fascinating and enjoyable. The tree house had great amenities. The washing machine allowed us to wash most of our dirty laundry. It was really nice to shut off from social media and mobiles for a couple of days.

A great place topped away on the edge of a rain forest. The owners David and Sharon, could not be more helpful . Their knowledge of the local area is very useful. |The tree houses are rustic, but very serviceable. There is only WiFi at reception, youโ€™ve more chance of seeing Hayleyโ€™s comet than your phone ringing at a treehouse. |One point of note ! Having a car there is essential, there is so much to see in the vicinity it would be an error of judgement not to have one.

What an amazing place. It can be found along a track about 3km off the nearest road. On arrival the owner met us and explained the walks and gave us a tip that we could see platypus in Yungabarra just up the road at dusk, we did see them too.||The treehouse we had was 2 bedrooms and had a proper kitchen(except an oven) with a super duper microwave that cooked anything!. You receive a welcome hamper in the fridge which has eggs, bread, milk and cereal. The views are amazing and the noises of the insects at night and the birds at sunrise will live with you forever.||There are a few walks on the property or you can venture out to one of the local lakes.||We saw the musk rat kangaroos and lorikeets being fed in the morning at reception.

We had a lovely two night stay in treehouse 8. Warm welcome received on arrival and everything we needed was in the accomodation. We did two of the trails and my partner did attract a leech but just pulled it off and no issue really. (On arrival We were warned about them due to recent rain). Very peaceful and wonderful sunrise each morning. This is a place for relaxation not necessary luxury. Sadly we didn't get to see the cassowary or pythons. Breakfast hamper was wonderful and did is two days. Lau dry facilities in the treehouse was an added bonus as we were travelling around .

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Gums, our tree house felt in the middle of nowhere. The houses are comfortable and well equipped making it easy to self cater, the style is a little old school but that was part of its charm. We did a couple of lovely walks in the forest, heard lots of birds and insects , unfortunately the platypus and cassowaries proved elusive. The morning feeding of the lorikeets and musky rats are a bonus. |It was interesting to visit this whole area as it is very different to much of Queensland . We found some great lakes to swim in and the town of Yungabarra is worth a visit. |

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Rosegums. We stayed in No 7 treehouse and our view was stunning from the veranda over the rainforest and the sounds of birds and insects from the surrounding trees was very atmospheric. We walked a couple of the trails (although we did get a few leeches on our lower legs where the path was narrow and it had just rained). We weren't lucky enough to see the cassowary in the area but we enjoyed seeing the birds fed one morning at reception and saw a musky-rat kangaroo.|Although I gave 5 stars, I would have liked to give 4.5. It would have been nicer I feel to have a thin duvet on the bed rather than sheets and a blanket and the pillows and sheets could maybe have been slightly higher quality. There was also not a proper oven in the kitchen area but they did provide some sort of small plug in oven and a bbq instead but I did expect a proper oven as it was self-catering. Having said that we coped fine and had the most wonderful stay in this treehouse.
