A big thank you to the kind and caring Dr Singh at Ranges Medical with a beautiful approach to quality patient care always looking at what is best for her patient's . The most recent addition to her room is the introduction of new weight scales which provide a broad base to stand on while a patient is having their weight recorded. The new scales are not like the conventional small footprint a much larger base proves to be a wonderful new tool for people that are not completely stable on their feet to stand safety also allowing for walking frames to remain in use .

My boys (2yr and 11w) and I love ranges. We have been attending for over 2 years now and it’s the only place I’ll go.
I drive 40 mins to ranges as I know the Dr’s are thorough and actually listen.
The reception ladies are great!

Would not recommend.

I booked my first appointment at the clinic with Dr Rhian Pickard. I received a call a few hours before appointment to say she was sick so made new appointment. I booked a long appointment as I had three medical items I wanted to cover (not big issues) and knew 30 mins would more than cover it.

Waited 20 minutes to see Dr and most of the appointment was going over new patient history (she asked). That’s all good, but only briefly spoke about issues I went in there for and then informed that I needed to book another appointment to work through those on another day.

Waited around 10 mins to pay as only one person on reception to do the payments, then got slammed with a $202.75 bill for and “extra long appointment” ($118.00 out of pocket), which is an item 44. When I questioned this, I was told the item 44 was an up to 30 mins charge. I checked Medicare when I got home and it’s 40 mins for an item 44 with other criteria it needs to meet. I had booked a long appointment (item 36). I wouldn’t mind so much if I didn’t need another appointment, but I did. Receptionist was saying to book another one.

Before booking appointments here, make sure you check the fees on their page and get clarification on times before your appointment. For example an extra long appointment is $202 here, where is between $150 and $160 at other local Drs (Riddell, Gisborne). I would also suggest using a timer, which they apparently do. Also they don’t have the allotted time for each appointment on their website so I feel can charge what they want.

I know I was not in the Drs for as long as I was charged as I know what time I arrived and left, also, the waiting around was almost half an hour with the queuing included.

I don’t mind that appointments are timed to the second so patients don’t go over, but I didn’t go over and my issues weren’t resolved. Also, if Drs aren’t going to go over patients allotted times, maybe they should be more punctual with their patients visits.

Note: two of the five star reviews of this clinic are from Drs and one from a student Dr.

Probably the BEST medical practice institution I have ever been to
I went to this practice a year or so ago out of an emergency, a cyst which had been infected. It wasn’t the first time this had happened, and every other place I went to clearly didn’t go a good job as it would reoccur again months later, including going to a hospital!!
Went here and saw Tanya first, and she demonstrated such a high degree of attention and experience. Saw other practitioners as well and they all done an amazing job. The Nurses and front staff were very caring and excellent as well! Overall they done such an amazing job that it has been a very long time since this issue hasn’t occurred, so they must’ve done a proper good job compared to every other medical place I have been.
Definitely must go to this place if you ever have any medical issues, I am forever grateful for the whole team

I'd like to give a big thankyou to Ranges Medical. My daughter has a significant needle phobia and we usually need to go to the Royal Childrens Hospital for any blood work. Our doctor today used a buzzy bee which made the whole experience so much easier. Thanks Ranges Medical for this simple adjustment.

Thank you Dr Singh for your care when I had a need for urgent attention. Also, I was so impressed at the respectful and gentle way you treated a student doctor who got a bit squeamish during the procedure.

Really impressed by all the staff I have encountered at this clinic. We travel here from 45 minutes away to get good care. There seems to be a really good approach to treatment - antibiotics only prescribed when absolutely necessary etc.

Arrogant, rude, dismissive and zero compassion whatsoever.. Staff are incompetent giving five differing instructions on how to enrol as a new patient even with a referral only to be turned away. All about money and zero to do with health and welfare - Don't waste your time and money
