It will be a sad day indeed when the inscrutable Dr Jack is no longer able to practise. Over the years that I have been his patient he has saved me thousands of dollars and endless pain by curing (not just treating) my sciatica and other back problems. Now I rarely visit him, but I have referred lots of my friends and family. If he can't cure you he tells you on the first consultation, and he has always bulk-billed!
Yes, at times the practise gets busy and the receptionist could be more warm and fuzzy. Yes, if the computer isn't working it causes chaos, as it would in most businesses these days.
But Guys, Dr Jack is brilliant so who cares if you have to wait! Who cares if the customer service isn't always 5 stars!
Not me. 😁

Went there to get a cut of my Mum's wound cleaned. The Asian lady on the reception said come tomorrow. I said do we need an appointment and she asked if we had ever been there before. Then said "no new comers". Did not explain any further, said that she is unable to help.

Will never attend this Medical center and will never recommend this place to anyone. 0 stars if I could give them

I am so grateful to have this as my local clinic as so many GPs now do not bulk bill without a co-payment. I believe it is standard practice these days for GPs to charge any new patients a co-payment or not take new patients as there is just no way to cover surgery running costs when the government payment for GP visits is not meeting GPS costs- and then people wonder why? It is not the GPs, it is the government, and the uni entry requirements for GP in Australia are ridiculous with the GAMSAT and UCAT and most drs who make it through are in so much student debt they need to specialise to survive. GPs are very busy, emergency is very busy and we cant blame staff we have to look at the bigger issue and support healthcare workers with patience and understanding. Who suffers in this type of modern Australian system? The medical staff and their patients. Everyone who complains at a dr instead of the government is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Dr Jack is very experienced and so is Dr Karen. I have seen other Drs here over the years who are also very good, so the overall medical care standards are high. As others have said, the receptionist is caring but this is not always apparent- the communication can be a challenge. Essentially, I come here for a dr, not a receptionist, so a nice receptionist is icing on the cake but not essential. The drs are knowledgeable, helpful, and professional and I feel very lucky to have this practice in my area.

I called in for appointment with Dr Karen Chan.the receptionist was so rude, her attitude was so bad, she said there is no appointment available since covid has started worldwide dr has stopped taking new patients..
I mean this is the first medical centre i have seen behaving in such weird way, they are refusing to accept patients.
God knows what they are really upto..
Would not recommend this medical centre
and specially that receptionist is not at all professional ,worst customer service. They dont deserve even 1 star.

I have been a long term patient at this clinic since it open and highly commended the Drs and staffs here. Dr Karen and Jack and the nurses here are doing a fantastic job, at this clinic compare to any other medical centre that we have been to.

Although, we now live any 1.15hours away from this medical centre we still comes back and see these two doctors as our family doctor. They are committed and provide a very thorough patient care. Never are they rude to the patient. They are professional and polite and have always put their patients first.

I have gone and read through all the comments made by A Smith who have mainly write negative reviews about almost all places which this she visits.

This comments should be remove from the website, as far as her comments is concerned. This clinic is very system driven with all our medical details on files compare to the old system. They have up-to date technology which if the system fail the Dr cannot access the patient files and do not want to see patients and give them the wrong diagnostics and prescriptions. Every medical public medical centre you will always have to wait at least half hour to one hour and if you have an emergency they will generally see you first. This is no big deal. If this is a private clinic, they would have no problem calling but don’t expect a public medical centre to make all the calls to the patient. Who is footing the bill? Would you like the doctor to charge an out of $15 for each visit.

It doesn't hurt for A Smith or anybody to contact the clinic if you’re strap for time and see if they are running on schedule. We are very lucky to have this medical centre in Westmead compare to the one near the train station. Queen St Medical open on weekend and with a proper patient care compare to other medical centre that keep having newly oversea medical staffs that comes and go as they please.

I encourage other patients from this clinic to write a positive review.

Regards,
Karen

My family and I have used this medical centre since it opened (at least 12 years now) - very convenient for locals and I have been lucky to have a medical centre with consistent staff to support our health over the years. I find dr jack dr Karen and those who have trained here to be very thorough and err on the side of caution - this was a real blessing when my husband who was healthy for years had an unusually high cholesterol and was asked to do further testing in a prompt manner which resulted in stents within three weeks. This likely saved a heart attack as the blockage was serious. They are always pleasant and polite, very caring and supportive. I used to work in hospitality and saw many medical conferences where drs were not as Diligent or knowledgeable. Any medical centre gets busy and runs off time- when I had shingles they fit me in last minute on the last appointment of the week so I didn’t have to suffer over the weekend or go to emergency. This sort of thing does happen from time to time and if anything the drs suffer the most as their working day is longer but they do it for the community. Once or twice it has been me holding people up so I am fine to wait for others if needed. People really shouldn’t complain about that because health is unpredictable. Thank you Queen’s road for your good care.

Worst GP ever. 1 star is too much for these people. They wont treat you if you have any symptoms of illness, even if you tested negative COVID. So why do we need you if we are all healthy and have no symptoms?
