Process was efficient but really disappointed with lack of care from nurse. I am a chronic fainter after blood tests. I told her that I often need to lay for the test and wait a bit after with some water or I will pass out. She did not show any care for the situation, she did lay me down thankfully. Conducted the test quickly but no check ins on my welfare. Left the room when finished. I ended up driving home and begun fainting in my car!!! I had to pull over and lay on the side of the road. This has never occurred before because nurses in the past have ensured proper after care. This woman made me feel rushed. So worrying!!

We visited QML Pathology on Wallace Street, Chermside, and encountered an elderly staff member who was extremely rude and unkind. Despite seeing that I was unwell, she showed no empathy. I had recently undergone surgery and was there for a blood test, accompanied by my 17-year-old daughter, who was driving me and is on her L’s. She accidentally parked in the wrong spot, which I didn’t notice because I was feeling dizzy.

While I was inside for the procedure, my daughter waited outside. A staff member saw the car and harshly scolded her, yelling, “You can’t park here—it’s for ambulances.” The staff member repeatedly went back and forth to the pathology, watching and intimidating my daughter to see if she would move the car.

My daughter called me, asking me to come outside immediately. I rushed out to check on her, despite being unable to move quickly due to my condition. Nervous and shaking, she quickly moved the car but wasn’t sure where to go.

I understand my daughter made a mistake, but why intimidate her instead of calmly addressing the situation? A simple, respectful correction would have been enough. There was no need for such aggression. It was unnecessary and cruel to reprimand a young girl so harshly. A woman in her sixties attacking a 17 year old girl —it was horrifying to see.

Her behavior left us feeling harassed and intimidated. Yes, we made a mistake, but respect and kindness could have made all the difference. My daughter was so shaken that she cried in the car, saying it was the worst anxiety she had ever felt. I never imagined that a short trip to the pathology would leave both of us feeling so awful because of someone who doesn’t know how to be kind.

This experience demonstrated a complete lack of compassion and respect. I strongly advise avoiding this place if you don’t want to encounter similar arrogance and hostility.

P.S. This staff member had served me before at this pathology and was not warm on that occasion either. Avoid this place at all costs.

Ally was so kind and helpful. I recently had a bad experience where I blacked out a bit at a different pathology after they couldn't draw anything. Now as soon as I step in a pathology I feel like I'm going to faint. Ally took the time to look at both arms for the best vein, talk me through it, and be so supportive. The draw went perfect and she made me feel so much better about the whole experience. Thank you Ally!

Easy to get to. Went on a Sunday so parking was easy but may be harder on a weekday due to a nearby medical centre. Still had a short wait in spite of getting there reasonably close to opening time. Lovely staff.

I dont usually comment, but saw some blatent incompetencies here. Firstly a recall from this clinic for not completeing a test from a week ago. Secondly returning only to have to wait for over 2 hours. Staff leaving shift after a full waiting room. Thirdly not understanding patient needs due to language issue from the tech. As a nurse myself, and observing the lack of urgency at a time where disabled patients are waiting for over an hour and a half and a full clinic is unacceptable. No front desk staff either to assist and no prioritising for those urgently requiring bloods. Really felt like just another number. More than disappointing.
1. Solution? A supervisor during busy periods to run the priorities.
2. Bookings vs walk ins. Separate staff to deal with bookings, however if these become more urgent, allocate to assist those to get seen to and walk ins advised the waiting time so they can choose to go elsewhere.
3. Recalls. Got a spam call ID for the recall I wasn't going to answer and most phones don't accept certain numbers. But lucky I accepted and got told.of the recall. Advise to email and call. Now have to make 2 GP appointments because of the recall.
4. Not qualifying patient prior to consult, including identification such as Medicare, special needs. This was seen in front of patients and discussed, breaching medical-in-confidence. Have a quiet chat behind the scenes.

We visited QML on Wallace Street, Chermside for my 7 year old to have blood drawn. The staff member Jacky was friendly, patient and polite with our son. She drew blood efficiently with no issues and provided our son will a lollipop. Really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Thank you Jacky!

Best pathology collection facility in Queensland. Easy parking, great staff and only short wait times.
PS.
I was just reading the Clare Lau experience below and if you park legally I'm sure everything would be great. Clare please explain to all your relatives not to park in the Ambulance 🚑 Park... ever! Reading more from Clare, she is an unhappy human. So many one Star reviews. So much hate

Poor customer service, I left after two failed attempts. As someone who works in ED and takes blood, poor technique was observed by the collector. I told collector to take needle out three times before they removed it. This is the second negative experience I’ve had here. Would not recommend.
