I was able to get an appt within an hour of calling. I was very impressed by the friendliness of all the staff and the willingness to help us get an appointment, especially as we don't live in Port Macquarie.

Moved to Port last year. Today i found the most wonderful caring Family Practice. Great helpful lovely staff at reception.
Dr Deon Heyns. What can i say. The best doctor ever. Took the time to listen to me. Hear about my medical history. So caring and interested in his patients. A breathe of fresh air. The centre feels very welcoming to.
Can't recommend them highly enough.
We have found our new family doctor in Port.
100% in every way.

The only reason I cannot give five stars for Port Family Practice is my recent experience with trying to book online via the EasyVisit app and repeatedly being switched from this practice to one in Usher, WA, no matter what I tried. I understand that it is an app problem, but had always found the previous HotDoc app created no problems at all.
Regarding everyone at Port Family Practice, I have nothing but praise. I have been a patient of several different highly skilled doctors over a number of years at this practice and find my current GP, Dr Deon Heyns offers as high a level of care as I have ever experienced.

Dr Heyns is friendly, thorough, professional and a very good diagnostician. He diagnosed my problem within minutes without me having to undergo X-Rays or other diagnostic tests. Great to have a dr who will listen to your symptoms and not send you off to the Lab for a battery of blood-tests to try and diagnose whatever ails you.

Really impressed by the quality of doctor-patient service at this small practice. The doctors that I have seen have been supportive, informative, understanding, thorough, professional and highly responsive. I have felt that they care about their patients and are more concerned with their patients' mental and physical wellbeing than clock-watching. Rarely have I experienced this more traditional type of GP and it is extremely reassuring as you feel in very good hands. I have usually managed to get appointments quickly, and often the staff have been very responsive to my needs. Unfortunately, it seems the cost of this is a long wait time, e.g. not seeing the doctor until 40-60 mins after the appointment time. I would certainly choose this (rather than see a GP at a large clinic, be rushed through in less than ten minutes and be left feeling like I had just been 'processed' and had not really been heard or taken seriously), particularly for problems that are more complex or worrying.

Terrible experience, had requested to get a blood test and also a couple of referrals to see specialists but when I called to book an appointment to get the results they couldn't see me anymore since the doctor has left, couldn't use the referrals that doctor gave me and didn't get my results either. What a waste of time.
