Fantastic team here that looked after my husband after breaking his wrist in a fall. He was brought in by ski patrol and in a lot of pain, triaged quickly and then given some pain relief to make him more comfortable until they could xray and see him. They were quite busy at this time of day.

My husband ended up with surgery after we returned home, and the surgeon remarked the Perisher team had done a really good reduction of his wrist and was in a great position for the amount of damage he had done. She said she saw a lot of Perisher injuries from people who had returned to Brisbane and said they must have a really good team down there.

We’re very grateful for them and their expertise - Siobhan, Dr Pike, and Matthew who all looked after him and and got him as comfortable as possible. The team were so kind and wonderful from start to finish.

My husband was skiing Perisher on Tuesday 6 August when someone skied in to him and took off, leaving him unconscious. Some other people flagged down Ski Patrol and waited until they arrived. The paramedics, Doctors and staff were amazing with their level of care, with the Doctor even making a follow up call to check on him on the 10th. He ended up being taken by ambulance to Cooma Hospital, where he was likewise looked after incredibly well. Thank you to all involved - except for the chicken sh!t who did the hit and run….

i had skin tear post fall. i went to get a first aid. the nurse there told me that they will charge the money as it is a private practice. i am a registered nurse my self i see someone with bleeded finger it is my duty of care to provide first aid first. it was so sad to see that. disappointed. i asked the nurse if i can get a gauze with normal saline i would do the dressing myself she refused to help and asked me to buy it from pharmacy. she said the practice have it in a bulk and can open. like seriously? . i have been working in health care for ovee 5 years. you will have plenty gauzes which are not included in dressing pack. people in this medical center are not compassionate. i would have paid for the dressing supply she handed me over but rather she asked me to go and get it from pharamacy with the bleeding hand

We had a really positive experience at Perisher medical Centre 2 months ago when my son broke his arm. We were taken to the centre by ski patrol right on 5pm closing time but they happily took us in anyway. Doctor Chris Holden and the nurses were very friendly and caring and explained everything really well. The fracture had to be manipulated under regional anaesthetic and Dr Holden did an amazing job realigning the bones. Two months later the cast is off and the bones have healed perfectly. Thank you!

Disgusting duty of care today to my son Who went In With a broken collar bone. Once the nurse and extremely rude Doctor ( Dr Pike) found out he was not a private patient and wanted public care only they pretty well threw him out of the practice.
My son is practicing medicine himself and was disgusted that a medical team could operate with such disregard for a person in pain and wanting help.
This will be escalated although after reading the comments everyone else agrees it is a very poor service with rude staff running it.

Dr Pike was extremely rude with zero bed side manner. When I asked for some extra pain relief for my son who had broken his wrist and had already been sitting waiting for 2 hours, Dr Pikes response was ‘give the mum a Valium’ . When I stood up and said, I don’t need a Valium my son needs pain relief, I was then asked my name and Dr Pikes response was ‘I’ll remember that for when I call docs’.
The room was full of gob smacked people. I was extremely upset by this comment. I am a loving mother who was simply trying to help manage my sons pain.
I appreciate it is extremely busy in there, but for $710 some pain relief isn’t too much to ask for! And some compassion and manners would serve Dr Lincoln Pike well!
I would in the future get the amazing medics on the ski field to stabilise the break (which they did) and take my son into Jindabyne.
I have never come across such appalling treatment by a ‘professional’.

Read the reviews and remember that only one Dr seems to be consistently negatively discussed. The rest are not.

This is a small private trauma centre situated above the snowline (it’s not a large public hospital with public funded staff).
I can only say the nursing and medical staff there were polite, professional and very helpful to me.
Being brought in by the Ski Patrol, triaged, xrayed, given a letter for treatment/surgery at a main hospital, and moved out.
That’s all a trauma centre can do and they were excellent.
Now 2 days later, in a main city and recovering post-operation. Triage and treatment started wonderfully on Mt Perisher and continued in the Medical Centre.

Dr Pike was great. He had a good sense of humour and made everyone at ease during a stressful situation. Very good value for their service. I highly recommend the centre to patients needing medical emergencies. You really have to appreciate all these medical personnels who work in a remote region like this. Well done team.
