Absolutely can’t vouch for PSA strong enough! The entire team are incredible and the experience being a patient there has been beyond all great expectations. Dr Anthony Njo basically saved my life! He took the time to listen, believe and assess best treatment. I’m one year after my spine stimulator implantation and I have my life back!

I have been seeing Dr Glareh Arfaei at pain specialists Australia for over 2 years now for multiple issues after a car accident, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Dr Arfaei actually listens and cares, and really wants to understand and resolve every issue. Dr Arfaei has helped me to find the right medications, and has done two nerve ablation procedures for me as well as cortisone treatments, which have all helped me a great deal.

Dr Glareh Arfaei is a fantastic doctor who is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but she is also warm, kind and reassuring. I can tell that she genuinely cares and really wants to help. All of the receptionists are also lovely, and I have never had a negative experience while visiting pain specialists Australia.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Dr Ivan Wong and receiving excellent, compassionate , helpful and informative care for severe chronic pain related issues ; quite challenging specific treatments being necessary. These procedures are happening with established trust, confidence in the level of care he provides, his gentleness and professionalism is appreciated. Kindness can be an understated quality amongst practitioners- I value it. Dr Ivan is all of the above.

When i first went to the Pain Clinic I was suffering from so much pain that had changed my life, pain I had never experienced.
Dr. ROSHAN THAWALE was amazing. He was confident & encouraging from the beginning of my first diagnostic appointment. That meant alot to me & gave me hope I could recover. I have been having treatment & it has changed so much for me. I am not suffering from the pain I had.
Not only has Dr THAWALE been treating me with the procedures I've been having , he has been extremely caring. That has meant so much.
I have found everyone at the clinic to be helpful, professional but for my experience friendly & caring.
I continue my treatment at the clinic with Dr THAWALE &I will continue to recover.

I wanted to proceed with a procedure for which I’d already had a full consultation and quote from a doctor at PSA, but, I was told I needed to have another full consultation for $465 (less a $148 rebate), which also might be with a different doctor, even though my original doctor is still there.

My original consultation was fine. I was provided medicine and surgical options (quote, potential dates, etc.) and had been trying medication options for the past 12+ months. This turned out not to be a solution, so I wanted to proceed with the procedures and to speak briefly with the Doctor to confirm moving ahead.

Reception told me it was the company policy (not the doctor’s) that because it had been over 12 months I needed another full consultation “just in case”. I explained I only wanted to speak to my original doctor (not pointlessly repeat everything to a different one), and that I was happy to pay for a 15m consultation or similar, as literally, all I needed to say was “The medication hasn’t helped enough, nothing else has changed, let's do the procedure we already outlined?”. I was told this was not possible.

I asked if my message could be passed to the doctor to determine an appropriate consultation and was told, “That’s not up to him; he’s just an employee.” Unbelievable. Apparently, their billing department dictates what appropriate medical practice is, not their doctors. How little respect the business must have for them.

I was then told this was a strict policy and I wasn’t entitled to “special treatment”. Special treatment? I was trying to engage and pay for services their doctor had already discussed and provided quotes for! I didn’t expect anything for free. I’m completely prepared to pay for genuine service/treatments, and am able to do so.

For months after my original consultation, I received follow-up calls pursuing me to go ahead with the procedures, to which I repeatedly explained I was trying some medications for the foreseeable future before going ahead with the surgical treatment.

Now that I was ready to proceed with the procedures already recommended by their doctor, the company policy wouldn’t allow it without first squeezing me for another $465. Instead of them facilitating moving forward with the next stage of treatment, I was roadblocked by a blatant cash grab.

During my first visit it felt clear from their processes that first and foremost, their priority is money, not patient well-being (though the Doctor was good, I’m not criticizing him). This was confirmed in stark fashion during my latest interaction with reception. I understand they are a business and need to be profitable, everybody needs to make a living, but this was absurd.

I can’t imagine how futile trying to get aftercare from them would be, in the event of complications, when this is how they handle initial treatment requests.

The doctors there may be good, but the business approach is deplorable. Saying that a doctor has no place in determining how a consult is done because they’re “just an employee” demonstrates exactly how little interest they have in health outcomes compared to money.

I recommend seeking help elsewhere from somewhere that is more interested in your health than their bank balance.

I would like to give my opinion of Dr Bradley Lewinsohn and his staff at Pain Specialists Australia.
I have had pretty serious back issues since work accidents in 1986 and 1999. I have seen many doctors and specialists since then with multiple treatments, and I can honestly say I have never had a person treating me show such genuine concern, feeling and empathy for my situation. Treatments over the previous 2 years seemed like revenue raising for the doctors involved.
Dr Lewinsohn had to go in AGAIN and repair the previous surgeries.
Whilst I will never be fixed, he has got my Spinal Cord Stimulator working the best it has.
Even the genuine care he shows has helped my state of mind.
James Ryan and the other programmers also show the same genuine care.
I cant recommend him highly enough and he is great bloke as well
Thanks Dave

The team at Pain Specialists Australia are Amazing. The receptionist team are always friendly and will do their best to help me. The nursing staff are incredible. The 3 nurses always make my treatments easy and help distract from the procedure. Dr Anthony Ngo is the best doctor I could ask for. He is always doing everything possible to help with my pain.
