My friend had spinal surgery in August. The surgeon was great and her surgery went well. However since she has been in her room her bed has not been changed and she has not been bathed unless her daughter does it!! This is totally unacceptable and needs to be addressed by the CEO of the hospital.

The system is broken, nurses are overwhelmed with patients, technicians are doing work with chicken fingers on their desk because they haven’t get a chance for a break and they complained and complained in front of you. the doctors are most likely reviewing charts and files on their desk and residence doctors and students are on the floor doing what a doctor supposed to do checking patients. I was in the hospital for 2 days 1/2 and most of the time was only residence doctor passing the message to the doctor. I saw the doctor only in the morning.
The worst thing is that everyone talks about it like it’s the best in the state for neurology you get referral to this hospital. But the hospital facilities are old and MyChart is not updated with all your lab work and tests the day that you leave the hospital.

I will definitely take my chances with Baptist in the future. ER did not appear to be busy and my toddler has now waited over two hours in the waiting room with an appendicitis. I hope his experience is not similar to others who also had a long wait once ushered to a room. No place is perfect, but Baptist reviews are consistently better.

We are all led to believe OU medical is the best place for your medical needs and life-saving procedures. We are told how incredible the doctors and facilities are at this center. All one needs to do is go out of state, let's say Texas, for example. You will soon realize that Oklahoma's premier medical center is a cesspool of filth and outdated procedures. I've had many DFW world class physicians tell me they correct more OU Medical work than anywhere else combined.

As far as billing, we were charged more for a consult than the whole surgery performed in Dallas. They are merely passing the buck onto those with insurance. Highly inflated prices for a teaching hospital. Look at other options if you or a loved one are having a serious procedure.

I was here for 4 days & the utter filth of this place is mind blowing. I had roaches in my room & it was never mopped, ever. The CT room had globs of a clear substance on the floor which I almost stepped in. The Dr.'s could not make up there mind on how they were going to treat my intestinal abcess. Finally they said no surgery or drain just antibiotics. The staff are great but not the hospital...yuk ..The air conditioning did not work. No clean towels or bed linens, heck no pillows. No clear discharge instructions. It is a teaching hospital so maybe teach them how to sweep & mop...

My mother was emitted to the ICU this last month with OU to help investigate, and care for her cancer. She lived a total of 24 days from her diagnosis. I spend the night there and spent most of my mornings there as well. I will say I was extremely unhappy of the lack of priority they had for my mother. I'm aware she was passing on, but they said they were going to try and make it as comfortable as possible... when I spent the night, my mom was crying in pain. She had jaundice, and a severe bladder infection, and was in need of pain medication. I called the nurse because she was trying to physically get out of bed while still hooked up to oxygen and IV's. I really understand it's busy and tried to be patient but after calling the nurse the 2nd time (40 mins after my first call) she got snappy with me. She said how the one nurse on hand had 7 other patients who need help then she will come to my mother). Okay, fair. 2 whole hours past after that call, a nurse walked in randomly and I told her what happened and the nurse at the desk never communicated that my mother was needing tending to. The communication was God awful and it cause my mom to be in excruciating pain and I felt so helped on Making her feel better.

They had an additude and took 3 hours total to stop by my mother's room. All because the nurse on night shift who operates the desk, never texted the other nurse Like she said. The crew overwhelmed my Dad asking the same questions 4 times by different nurses and doctors because no one communicated with the team. I would never recommend this place, especially for a loved one. There's plenty other hospitals that will be more on top and prioritize patients with high level pain. Some of the staff was wonderful, but the majority of interaction I had with the night nurse was just neglectful. I wish my mother could've been more at peace before she passed, but at least she can be at peace now.

I scheduled my yearly mammogram and at the appointment I was notified my provider I needed the results sent to (GYN) had left. They asked who I wanted the results to be sent to. I had no idea because I had been seen by this provider for years! That was a surprise!
My dermatologist also had left but they were courteous and informed me.
I feel like much of the staff and providers have left.

I went to visit my Aunt who is struggling with Cancer, but went to the ER because excessive fluid. The hospital was so NASTY! Building A smelled horrible, it was warm and the nurses were un-attentive! I didn’t press the Nurse about her IV bleeding because I was in shock at the conditions. My cousin came and brung it up, he took it off and blood wouldn’t stop, dropped the package with the bandage and had us use the call button NO ONE ANSWERED FOR A LITTLE OVER 2 minutes. We had to help her to the restroom because nobody answered another time to help. I’m reporting this to every governing authority. God bless those patients and workers persevering through those conditions.
