Do reasonable job of actual tests, but don't treat elderly Medicare patients well. I've been having diabetic eye test for over a decade, takes around 35 - 45 minutes. At OPSM then elongate the time so they can fit in extra people by leaving you sitting waiting between tests longer than necessary ( they take 1 hour 30 minutes). If you question their timing, they start talking before you have finished and you get treated to a lecture on respect. Seems respect for customer is dead, we are supposed to "respect" the paid employee by not questioning them. Not a pleasant experience.

I did my eye test here on 23.09.24. Had a pleasant experience, my test taker (can't recall what her name was but shes asian) was really kind and explained the process properly.

What a shambles. Having just moved to AS and purchased two pairs of multifocal glasses for a total of $1400. The optometrist was great, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The person fitting and measuring my glasses knew his stuff but was continually interrupted by other staff with questions (as he apparently was there to train) meaning that my total appointment was over two hours. When i went to pick up my glasses yesterday i was ‘assisted’ by three female staff who each seemed to know less than the others. Something as simple as entering health fund codes became a logistically nightmare involving all three. When I tried to say something (that i needed the codes applied for both pairs, to claim my maximum refund) the most ‘senior’ sales person turned and snapped and said ‘please don’t talk’. I said ‘excuse me I am the customer and this is not good enough’. Her response was ‘i did not snap’ i paid my money, left and will go and find another optometrist in AS to get my second pair of glasses (the other pair were sunnies) which i was fully intending to purchase that day from OPSM from another optometrist in AS. Avoid OPSM in Alice at all costs

The staff and optometrist, Bianca, were nice, friendly and very helpful in each step of the process. I am not really a fan of Luxxotica products, but mainly went to get my regular eye exam, which was great. I didn't initially plan on buying another pair from the store, but they made the process easy and I was able to buy transitions lenses, which I am more likely to want now due to my progressive lenses and my active lifestyle.

Emily was friendly and professional and took the time to listen to my concerns and feedback during the eye test. Not once did I feel rushed or too much trouble. Emily took the time to explain what was going on and to answer my questions in a way I understood. I felt she genuinely cared for my eye health and achieving the best outcome for my glasses needs. The lady on the glasses frame floor, whose name I didn't catch, was friendly and helpful and took the time to help me choose a frame which suited my face shape and skin pigmentation. She assisted me with kindness and gentle reassurance through the purchasing process and took the time to make sure I understood the options and made sure I got what I wanted with the glasses. I am enormously thankful and appreciative of her compassionate unhurried manner. It was by far the best experience I've had getting an eye test and choosing and purchasing my glasses. Can't recommend these lovely ladies enough!

I would not recommend an Optometrist appointment at OPSM Alice Springs. It was not disclosed to me that my confidentiality was not assured prior to or at the commencement of the appointment.
