No duty of care!! Was on holidays at Palm Cove and wanted for a doctor to listen to my 7 yo chest as he had a cold. I was told that they can’t afford for their doctor to get sick so they won’t see anyone with cold symptoms.

I was quite surprised by this policy, especially when it comes to the health of a child. While I understand the importance of protecting healthcare staff, I believe that prioritising patient care is equally critical. Medical professionals are there to serve the community, and when someone is in need of advice or treatment, it’s concerning to see a refusal based on such criteria.

P.S. I wasn’t offered a phone consult!!! That is a lie!!! I was just palmed off onto another few practices that had no avails on the day at all. Every doctor has immunocompromised patients yet I have never had such a response from a GP. As I said - no duty of care - even for the little ones!! Shame on you!!

We are so lucky to have this clinic in Palm Cove. Within 3 days, I had an appointment, diagnosis and initial treatment with ongoing care. Kind, efficient and reassuring all round. Thankyou ladies.

Fortunately we were provided with a last minute appointment for my son who was suffering from an ear issue and due to fly home.
Service was prompt and friendly.

I have to agree with some of the reviews here. I can see where both positive and negative reviews are coming from. Our appointment was bizarre. They also made us take our shoes off which i was fine with but she a snide comment about the way my daughter did it. I think she's a good and thorough Dr but the whole experience from booking to just getting inside the clinic was so strange and borderline rude. At one point I came back and she wouldn't open the door saying I didn't have an appointment (I don't think she recognised me) but it was so strange as if I was doing something wrong for knocking on the door. I don't think I would go back, unless it was an emergency but as another reviewer commented, she might not come out to save you if you didn't make an appointment lol. On balance she was also knowledgeable and helpful once we got into see her.

My daughter scraped her knee snorkelling yesterday and her knee swelled up. We called at 9am and were able to get an appointment today. We arrived a few minutes early and the doctor saw us right away. I’ve never been to a doctor where I haven’t had to wait! Very efficient service. The doctor also bulk bills for children which is great.

Caroline is very caring and interested in her patients and their care. Local in palm cove, and will make time for her patients and great to have a doctor in a fairly remote location without having to travel to another suburb. Good service and a very caring doctor I wish Melb doctors cared half as much, or provided the same level of care.

Amazing service! Was on holidays and needed to see a GP. Put a request in online early in the morning, was contacted before opening time and was able to see the doctor first up. Felt very comfortable; doctor was caring and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Called directly several days later with test results and offered follow up services. Can’t recommend this practice enough! Thank you 🙏

I had lost my voice to the point I could barely speak and could barely eat or drink anything last night and wanted to see a doctor. I had spotted the practice on my walk a few days ago and looked up when they open. This morning my throat was worse and decided to see a doctor as soon as possible, I walked into the reception and was greet by a lady (who looked to be about 40-50, they were wear a mask so hard to tell) doesn’t even say hi, just blatantly asks if I have an appointment. Shaking my head and whispering no, the lady grabs the door and says I need to book an appointment, ushering me out the door. There was another lady behind the desk and quickly grabbed a card with a number for me to call giving me a pity look. It hurts for me to speak but what else could I do so I called…and no one answered. I walked away feeling quiet upset and stressed, I’m only 3 days into my 2 week holiday and I cannot eat or drink or speak without wincing in pain or tearing up.

A little bit of bedside manner, compassion and kindness would go a long way. Instead of blatantly asking if I had an appointment you could of at least asked how I was, and would have probably realised that I couldn’t really speak before kindly informing me that the practice doesn’t take walk-ins and to book an appointment I would have to call, instead of shoving me out the door like I don’t matter. If that other lady behind the desk didn’t give me the card, how was I supposed to know how to book an appointment. Definitely would not be recommending anyone to get there.
