Got referred here by my GP. Spent 1 hour on hold just to be told I would have to email them the referral before being able to make an appointment. I emailed them within 30 minutes of making the call. 1 hour after emailing them, they responded, saying they would contact me shortly to make an appointment. 2 days passed with no contact, so on the 3rd day, I went back to my GP and was referred elsewhere. I emailed the other place, and 12 hours later, I was booked in for my appointment. 5 days later, I finally get called back by this clinic while at work. I missed the call, but they've already lost me as a potential patient anyway. Horrible customer service and communication.

I have had a professional and empathic rapport with the whole team for almost 3 years. The health care professionals and their team are an exemplified example who have your best interests at heart and I am impressed how above and beyond they've gone for me. I am very fussy with who I can trust on this frontier. Thank you everyone at Norman Park Specialist Centre and I will continue to be engaged long term.

Dr Mukherjee has helped me to recover from trauma. I met him under workcover and I found him easy to talk to and tried to help me as much as he could. Over several sessions, He advised me to not work at the trauma place anymore and advised me at work condition with my health conditions. He also managed me with several medications. His plans were excellent recover from it and workcover did not accept his opinion of safety hazard and decided to provide consults only. However, I found out he was trying to support me from the heart and could get medical treatments for a year. I finally feel a little better and slowly back to normal. I couldn't recommend him for more.

I have been seeing Dr Muhapatra for adult ADHD for over a year and have loved both his care and the receptionist care provided. They are always friendly here and call you several hours before your appointment so you have time to call back if for some reason you couldn't pick up when they first ring. I have never had any issues nor was the process hard to follow to get my original diagnosis. I think a lot of the negative reviews relate to the fact that people are not understanding to get a formal diagnosis the team needs to do their job and be able to checklist you against approved psychiatric processes. Most treatment and medication options for ADHD are highly regulated if they don't ask you what they ask you they can't legally prove you meet the requirements set nationally to them. I get it, having ADHD can feel impossible and you may be coming into this process already frustrated and unsure but not liking questions they ask you that are legislatively required isn't a reason to leave a poor review for a clinic that tries its absolute best to offer support to a very diverse and complex community. If you haven't called them up yet I would suggest asking for Dr J Muhapatra, as I can't speak to him highly enough, he's attentive and also has a sense of humour which for me I think I need as having attention dysfunction can bloody suck sometimes!

This is a mixed billing psychiatrist practice with several trained and qualified professionals on staff. The majority of services are provided by phone or video conferencing, though you have the option for face-to-face appointments if you prefer. There is on-going therapy available, but the main focus is on diagnosis and medication management. I have been very pleased with my experience here, as my specialist listens to me and works with my priorities.

My Dr moved here and since then what a nightmare getting an appointment is. Been waiting for a callback for 4 days, then spent 2 hours on hold this morning, 6 emails in 4 days, not even a courtesy to advise on the situation. Worthless.

I have been working with Dr M for over a year now, and I have found him to be a great sounding board, always professional and coming up with great advice.. It took a little while for our first appointment and it was worth the wait knowing you have someone who is genuinely interested in you..

Have been waiting for months for my scheduled appointment with one of the psychiatrists. Had GREAT difficulty even contacting the clinic as they get a high call volume, had multiple times where I was on hold for 30 minutes before I had to give up. Emailed twice to follow up, heard nothing back, until I finally reached them on the phone and was able to book an appointment.

The day before the appointment had been cancelled as the psychiatrist had taken emergency leave. Had a voicemail from the clinic asking to ring them back to reschedule, couldn’t get hold of them. Managed to hear back the next day and rescheduled for 2 weeks later, and the exact same thing happened. I sent a strongly worded email and all of a sudden I heard back very quickly and was able to be refunded the booking deposit I’d paid months ago.

Extremely disappointing coming from a psychiatry clinic, I really hope the rest of their patients / potential patients receive far better care than this.
