I removed my mother from here.
To many reasons to list.
It was a weight lifted, as soon as I got her out the front door for the last time.
I concept is very good but it's not what it seems, for us anyway.
My mum's needs were not met most of the time and the communication was almost nil if we were dressing a concern.

Be careful.
This is really a high dependency dementia facility when residents can foam freely within the facility and into any accommodation they wish.
My dad as a non-dimentia resident found it very mentally challenging as those who caused the most disturbance got the attention of carers, meaning dad was essentially ignored.
Both he and my self were verbally abused and he was physically assaulted by a fellow resident.
Whilst all incidents were reported in writing, the responses were hollow and meaningless.
I was lucky enough to find a placement in a facility that is split between dementia and cognitive people and in a very short time is back to his old self.
I'm only sorry NDC was not sold to me as it actually is, and even more sorry I put my folks through that torture for those 5 months.

So, look, read, ask questions before committing.

Very beautiful place for the residents here. Offer many different activities. Love the beautiful setting and different units. Truly a home like environment for the residents. Nicely located close by for family & friends. Love the security provided.

The NewDirection space is incredible and is the only real future for aged care solutions. It's just like stepping into a quaint village, so much thought and love has gone into every detail and everything is REAL. A real grocery story, wellness spa, beauty salon, cinema... NewDirection Care have thought of it all and continue to grow and innovate to realise their vision. Along with all the physical features, the whole place is filled with the most lovely, smiling, helpful staff - and I can personally vouch for the food being delicious too.

All show. Very Basic care. Much better nursing homes out there. My dad deserved better. He suffered due to lack of medical care.
My dad had a mild heart attack in the nursing and they did nothing. He suffered for 2 weeks until I got him into hospital, even though their nurse said he was fine. He died the next day. He did not die from the heart attack, he died from all the suffering he had to edure. We now have enough evidence to take this public. Everyone needs to know how bad they really are. I guess they will threaten to sue me again. Bring it on.

Thank you for the private tour. A beautiful nurturing environment in a self-contained community with every service a resident might need or desire. How wonderful to have a dentist on site. Loved the hydro-therapy pool and grocery store. I love a good coffee and the café did not disappoint with great food options too. Having experienced many levels of aged and disability support options and environments for my parents I was impressed with the model offered here. I always note if staff are happy as this is a big indicator of the level of care and support in my books. I was pleased to see the interactions with staff and residents and their interactions with each other. Lots of ticks for both residents and family/visitor facilities. Well done!

Visited yesterday to check this place out. They seem to do many things really well. I love their refreshingly different approach to looking after the aged community in their charge. Such a contrast to the institutionalisation we see in the mainstream aged care facilities. It would certainly be my location of choice should I need to move my aged loved one into care. They do security really well in contrast to previous facilities I've experienced. Their approach to dementia care is inclusive and caring. Margaret was welcoming and hospitable when we visited yesterday. My only complaint is there isn't a similar facility on the south-eastern suburbs of Brisbane. It would be wonderful.
