the nurses are so rude and inconsiderate
they speak to you like you’re a child
honestly just disappointed in the lack of empathy and understanding
genuinely reconsider if this hospital is the best place for your loved ones

Drive 2 hours to get Mum checked for cancer. Get told to pick her up in 4 hours, it’s a 25 min procedure but she has someone in front of her. No worries.
Came back 4 hours later and get told she’s only going in now and it’s a 2 hour wait for her to be done.
I asked the nurse why she hasn’t gone in yet when we were told 4 hours ago it was a 30 minute-1 hour wait.
The nurse tells me “that’s just how the public health system works darling” in a condescending voice. Then looks at me like I’m stupid and tells me that other people are going to come first because they “have something worse” (worse than cancer?) and how it’s impossible to give me a shorter time frame in a public system

One doctor for whole hospital is this a joke?
I thought a doctor or Doctors meant to be appointed to ER department only and only in emergency ER Doctors gets pulled away from ER department. Not here! Expect to wait over 4hours before doctor gets to see you.

Unwilling to give out any information on the phone to family members without being listed as a contact yet the contacts they have listed are incorrect with random names not affiliated with any family member. Bizarre power play by MDH. Discharge patients 4hrs after requiring CPR! And never provide any discharge paperwork. Nurses are vile and rude on the phone. Negligent and lazy!

This is the worst hospital in nsw! You'd have a better chance of getting help from the local vet than this place! There's no sense of urgency or care factor. Not that they do anything about it!

I was waiting for over to hours to see a doctor and the doctor hasn't even shown up at the hospital yet and a bloke showed up with a broken foot and there was still not doctor and young lady also showed up vomiting uo blood and still no doctor

I cannot praise Muswellbrook District Hospital highly enough. The attention I received during my stay was truly brilliant. Dr Swamy who saw me in ER and then transferred me to a ward for further testing, he is amazing, what a true caring professional. Just a beautiful human being. I can't speak highly enough about him. To the nurse's who most of the time were run off their feet, they still made the time to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. A special shout out to Roxy, Meagan and Lily thank you girls. Thank you so much again!
