I recently had a Mirena IUD inserted at MSI Brisbane Clinic in Bowen Hills and am extremely grateful for the exceptional care I received. From the moment I arrived, the entire team ensured I felt comfortable and supported.

Although I don’t recall everyone’s names, I want to highlight Nurse Holly (If got the name right) for her excellent initial care, which helped ease my nerves. Nurse Lily was instrumental in keeping me calm, engaging in conversation with me right up until the moment of anesthesia, making a significant difference in my experience. Nurse Sarah also deserves special mention for her meticulous aftercare, attending to my needs until I was safely picked up.

The clinic offers a range of services, including surgical abortion, contraception, and vasectomy procedures, all delivered with the utmost professionalism. 

I highly recommend MSI Brisbane Clinic. Their commitment to patient care is truly commendable.

I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge and appreciate the wonderful nurses and doctors and anaesthetists as MSI Bowen hills clinic. I was so nervous and anxious about the procedure but from the nurses to the doctor to the anaesthetist they made me feel as at ease as I could. Even up until I was on the operating table and in recovery. I can’t thank the team enough for making me feel so comfortable and cared for. Just know your hard work and dedication to your jobs does not go unnoticed 🩷. Thank you all again

Deserves more than the Google rating given, 5+ STARS!!! The team at Bowen Hills MSI were all so amazing. Reception team, Nurses, Dr A and the Anaesthesiologist also a Dr A, wow, what a super team!! Both doctors were so confident, clear and very knowledgeable on explaining and showing me the how’s and what’s for everything in order to provide and give knowledge, thus providing me with confidence and reassurance to myself and knowing that I was going to be in great hands at all times. No questions were too hard or unanswered, everything was always met with empathy, understanding and clear calming answers. It gave me 100% full trust in knowing that I was with a team of skilled professionals that truly take their jobs personally and with a very passionate and dedicated approach towards care. The entire procedure day was well organised and ran on time. The clinic was very tidy (trust me, I am a tidy sort). This is my story, and yes, it is going to be completely normal to feel many emotions and concerns before, during and even after, regardless of your needs (be it contraception IUD, surgical procedure, or unfortunate grieving needs), for me, even though one never truly wants to be in need of such a service in ones life or to be in such a position (which I never thought I would be) and yes I was nervous of the unknown… but all I felt that day when being taken care of by MSI was a sense of safety, calm and reassurance and it was honestly a peaceful process… I woke up feeling relieved, at peace and forever grateful for the comforting team at MSI Bowen Hills Brisbane. I felt comfortable and never in pain, I was never left alone either after the procedure, just only ever taken care of. I feel so fortunate enough to have such wonderful service provided and medical services available. MSI provide free counselling services to their clients and have an amazing duty of care, regardless of what your story is or when it was (even if later on you decide you need counselling)… Just remember, negative reviews are not always fact/truth and most likely just “pro-life” trolling. Highly recommended, and I am so glad I chose MSI over anywhere else!

Feedback would be some women are their doing life altering and possibly the hardest thing they ever had to do and one of the waiting rooms is right near where the nurses talk and congregate. It was a bit sad to see a woman crying and then hearing people loudly talk about grandchildren and food options whilst this lady is fasting and losing the prospect of a child. Nurses have every right to talk, joke and have fun but just remember that even though this is an everyday thing it is a massive life altering event for a human. I would suggest soft voices and closed doors better to maintain a sensitive environment.

It felt abit like if your at a funeral home and mourning and the coreners are laughing and joking loudly about loved ones next door. It can be very confronting and hurtful.

Now I can only say as a review from dropping my daughter off at bowen hills, Marie stopes and the information that I had required to making the appointment. I booked my daughter in here and upon calling them for an abortion that depending where your at in your pregnancy stage it does range in cost. The earlier you are the cheaper it is but my daughter was 13 weeks and we paid $550 with $100 deposit. After 14 weeks your going into the $1000+ range. The website says you will need a support person which you will afterwards due to slight drowsiness etc. There is NO parking there, I found the closest parking is on hurworth street (paid parking) just 3min walking distance if you get close enough, but you can park in the driveway if your picking up only. They gave me good enough information when I called them. So I was quite happy for my daughter to come here and hoped everything went well although it's a pity as a support person you can't go in with them. As other reviews prior stated the building looks rundown and is in need of a major maintenance clean up out the front. Other then that seemed like our experience was good

Lovely nurses, doctors and admin staff. Felt safe And my experience was really good from start to Finnish. The drs were really professional and informative and I felt at ease the entire time. Gave me contraception options and listened and didn’t judge. Barely any bleeding or pain afterwards. Don’t let the bad reviews turn you off.

I had a surgical termination on the 30th December due to an unplanned pregnancy. I was referred from the Logan hospital and got an appointment with MSI a week later. The MSI building was very discreet and staff were very welcoming and offered space for a support person. My best friend came along with me as my support person and the staff made both of us feel very relaxed and welcomed. My best friend was aloud to be a part of the whole process except for the surgical part of it. I couldn’t have done this without her. Being a mum of two beautiful children already. This decision was the hardest I’ve ever had to make. And I couldn’t have done it without her or the amazing team at MSI. Never once did I feel judged from the staff I was actually treated with such absolute kindness and respect. The process was explained very thoroughly and I got introduced to all the team involved in the process and every step was explained in great detail for my understanding and reassurance. So there were no shocks or surprises. I was given contact information and a booklet for aftercare and what to expect. I was very nervous once in the operating room and I started to get a bit teary the dr held my hand the whole time and reassured me I was in good hands and I was well taken care of. He held my hand right up until I went under. And the whole team was kind and caring the whole way through. When I woke up I was in no pain whatsoever. And I had no bleeding either. I had a nurse with me the whole time including from when I woke up and then I was taken over to a recliner chair and was given some biscuits and water and antibiotics. The nurse always asked if I wasn’t in any pain or discomfort. She wanted to make sure I was comfortable and I was given a heat pack before I left to go home. I highly recommend MSI. They definitely offer a kind and caring service.

I was struggling to find a clinic to get an IUD insertion under IV sedation but Marie Stopes were able to book me in super quickly. The staff were beyond extraordinary - they were all so incredibly helpful and kind, and I felt very calm and at home in their care. I really can’t stress enough how lovely the whole experience was and how much I recommend their services! The staff were just all so lovely and sweet and gave me comprehensive answers to all of my questions. The aftercare nurse was especially kind and made me feel very reassured and relaxed. Overall I had such a positive experience with the staff and procedures at the clinic and will definitely recommend them to others!
