Mountain View Resort - Shoalhaven Heads, New South Wales

We recently stayed at Mountain View Resort and had a mixed experience. The resort offers great amenities for children, which kept my older kids entertained. The location was nice, and the overall setting was enjoyable.

However, the cabin itself felt a little dated. The bathroom was old, and while fresh sheets were provided, the bunk beds weren’t made, which was unexpected for a resort. Additionally, some basic conveniences were missing—there was no iron, ironing board, or blow dryer in the cabin. I had to go to the laundry room for ironing, and while there was a washing machine, it required a $4 fee per load. Detergent wasn’t provided, and I had to purchase a small sachet from the admin building for $1. Having to go to multiple places just to do laundry, plus paying for detergent, was inconvenient — especially when trying to manage supervision of my young children.

For a place labeled as a resort, I expected a bit more in terms of convenience. If some of these minor issues were addressed, it would improve the overall experience.

We loved our stay. Staff are very nice and helpful. Access to a clean pool with a slide, the backyard is so amazing! Wasn’t expecting to have access to a big field, bike track, gym equipment, chess, jumping pillow. Staying here for Christmas 2025 - can’t wait to be here again.

We booked a standard cabin here, mainly for the great location & park facilities, and that didn't disappoint. The cleanliness and surrounding noise however most definitely disappointed

There was a cockroach problem in our cabin, probably due to the very dirty floor under beds & lounge. We had 3 large roaches come from under our beds during the night, after moving the beds a little we saw a lot of dirt, dust, old jewellery & chocolate wrappers. You also have to make your own bed on arrival, I've traveled a lot in my life & have never had to do this, disappointing after a 10hr drive to get there for us.

We we're also faced with extremely noisy & rude surrounding cabins that were making noise till 1am most nights, 11pm the others. For a park that says it's strict on rules, Im not sure how they were allowed to continue. I asked to be refunded my last 2 nights but was denied & offered a floor clean & some insect spray instead. While I appreciated this, a refund would have allowed me to find somewhere else cleaner & quieter, have hardly slept at all the last 5 nights.

The park facilities & daily activities for kids are great, & if you're camping I'm sure you'll love it. The service, lack of functional Wi-Fi, poor cleanliness & lack of guest compliance are not so much to love.

I wish I had gone elsewhere.

Mountainview Resort is a excellent family-friendly accommodation . The amenities were well-designed to cater to both adults and children, ensuring everyone had a great time. The staffs were incredibly helpful and attentive, making us feel right at home. Additionally, the resort's location is a major plus, with beautiful attractions just a short drive away. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would highly recommend Mountainview Resort for a family getaway!

My daughter and I spent 3 nights at one of their ensuite camp sites. Two novice campers and very apprehensive about being in a new environment, this resort and it's facilities made us feel right at home! The surroundings and all the common areas including the camp kitchen were clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, always saying Hi - I cannot fault this place! The mountain view was also impressive.
Thank you Mountainvew Resort for making our stay memorable. We will be retuning very soon!

We stayed here back in January and I would find it very hard to have anything negative to say at all. Our cabin was beautiful and clean, the park as a whole is very well taken care of and there is always plenty on to keep the kids busy. It's a beautiful quiet location too. We will definitely be back!

I have recently stayed here for 5 days in a drive thru ensuite for camping.Wow, I really love this resort it has plenty of activities for children and adults,from a tennis court, pool with a slide a baby ppol also, putt putt, games room, bbqs community kitchen, a massive walking track with a pillow bouncy trampoline, gym equipment around the track more bbqs tables.
I highly recommend staying here only 5 mins drive to the beach and shops also about a 10 bike ride to beach ,why not try the bowling club for dinner or the pub for a nice cold beer overlooking the water. Berry is a 5 min drive and why not explore the wineries also
The park is very clean. Staff are absolutely amazing. I definitely will be back to stay here very safe even if ur travelling alone.

My wife and I had a great time here. The resort felt like a resort. It was clean and had many great facilities, which included a pool, games room, laundry area, buggy track, tennis court, jumping pillows and mini golf. The staff were friendly and were great for informing us of things to do near the area. Kiama and Berry are only 20 minutes away with lots of great restaurants and beaches. There was beautiful scenery around with green rolling hills and farm land. We will definitely be staying here again.
