The doctors, nurses and reception staff at Mt sheridan medical are all great in my experiences, however, since covid they have decided to build permanent shacks outside in the heat, wind and rain for any patient that presents with a cough, runny nose etc. Is this not one of the main reasons people attend a GP service? While I understand what they are trying to do I don't believe it is appropriate to put some of the sickest patients outside in the elements by themselves to wait for a dr and to then be assessed with the bare minimum of equipment and still charge $80 for the consult!

My first experience with this was when I was heavily pregnant and the dr wasn't even going to check my BP! This was when they only had temporary stuctures and I thought it was a temporary thing while covid was bad. However, I was even more outraged when I attended with my sick 11month old recently and found they had built permanent stuctures and I was made to sit out in the shack again. There is no computer to access past medical records or anything. I just don't see how a proper assessment can be made not to mention how uncomfortable it is to wait for the dr who as we all know are very rarely on time.

I feel a better solution would be to separate patients inside the waiting room and make them wear a mask while they wait for the dr and maybe have a dedicated room for patients to be seen in that are presenting with flu like symptoms.

After residing in Cairns of the past 3 years I can honestly say I have finally found a medical centre with excellent staff and Doctors who actually care about their patients and with minimal wait times is such a blessing to me

Equally impressive is Nurse Julie Michael, whose experience and cheerful demeanour have made every visit pleasant and reassuring. Her ability to connect with patients and provide care with kindness is a testament to her dedication and professionalism.

Over the many years, the entire staff at Mt Sheridan Medical Services deserves our heartfelt appreciation for their friendliness and efficiency. Whether it’s scheduling appointments or accommodating last-minute changes, they handle everything with grace and a smile. Their commitment to patient care extends beyond just medical treatment to include exceptional customer service.

We have watched this practice grow and expand its services over the years, with numerous doctors now specializing in care for women, men, children, and the elderly. This comprehensive approach has been incredibly beneficial for our family, ensuring that all our health needs are met under one roof.

In conclusion, Dr. Rudolphy, Dr. Gatera, Dr. Delaney, Nurse Julie, the original team, and the entire staff at Mt Sheridan Medical Services have provided us with outstanding care and support. I’ve seen a few doctors at this practice and have settled on Dr Louise Bourke. I had the same doctor for years at McLeod St medical but he retired a few years ago and I have been on the search since for a new doctor. Dr Louise has been so incredibly helpful with my health and has gone above and beyond. The other doctors were great too but I felt Dr Louise is the doctor for me. The reception staff are so lovely and always welcoming. Couldn’t fault this practice. Very happy with the service.
