I recently took my mother to an appointment at the Monash Refugee Clinic, scheduled for 11 AM. We parked our car and acquired a parking ticket for the maximum allowable time of one hour. Upon arrival, we were informed that the doctor was running thirty minutes behind schedule, and we had no choice but to wait until 11:30 AM.

As the time for our parking ticket was nearing its end, I informed the receptionist that I needed to briefly step out to renew the ticket to avoid a fine. I explicitly requested that the doctor take my mother in if he became available during my brief absence, assuring them that I would return within 3-5 minutes.

Unfortunately, when I came back, I was informed that the doctor had already taken another patient and that we would need to wait an additional thirty minutes. This was very frustrating, as we had already waited for the delayed appointment and my brief absence to update the parking ticket was unavoidable.

Overall, this experience was disheartening, especially from a clinic designed to support refugees. I hope that the Monash Refugee Clinic will take steps to improve their appointment management and patient communication in the future.

There is a rude person who took the call, her name was Mary, she just shut me off when I called and said "I can't help you' as if I was wasting her time. She gave me the general number for gov vaccine who already told me to go to this refugee health service.
