The lady at the front desk always has a smile making what can be an uncomfortable place at times feel much more welcoming and light.
I have had more progress in two sessions with Natalia than with any other psychologist I’ve worked with previously.
I finally feel optimistic moving forward.
The practise doesn’t have that typical doctors clinic feel to it, it’s very beautiful and feels full of life with staff floating around and talking amongst themselves.
Couldn't recommend MindTree enough.

I started seeing Dr James Champion at MindTree Psychology in 2021, and I am still a regular patient today as of March 2025. I have previously tried a few different psychologists on the Coast, but could not build the rapour and gel with them, leading to the sessions not working well, if at all. I was referred to Dr James by my then psychiatrist as he believed Dr James to be at the top of the field in psychology on the coast.

I find Dr James to be calm and informative, willing to try different approaches to get a desired outcome.

He is professional at all times, but very relatable. He is sensitive to your traumas and situations, but will pull you back if you are spiralling in the wrong direction and is not a yes man, who just agrees with you. He is very good at pointing out that you are catastrophising and having a self pity party, without upsetting you.

The pratice has a relaxed ambience that immediately puts you at ease.

Shelley on reception is also wonderful, polite and caring and on top of her job, advising when you need to book an appointment or get a new referral from your GP, keeping track of how many sessions you have.

I could not rate this pratice and Dr James more highly.

I have been to visit James for more than 2 years now, He is best psychologist ever. He makes you feel so comfortable and being so patient with me, and also provide best support I need with his professional advice,and never try to rush finishing the section.He did big help with assisting diagnosis of my ADHD, and recommend me amazing psychiatrist.
Those years he helped me and my husband so much, I can't be more thankful to find him.
Highly recommend Dr.James Champion to everyone who needs support with your mental health issues.

Rhett Clayton is a wonderful psychologist! He has helped me immensely with improving my mental health and I really clicked with him. He is very empathetic and listens to you and really tries to understand you. He offers good advice and prints out informative worksheets. I would highly recommend seeing him and he offers telehealth appointments too.

After seeing many psychologists over the years and never making it past a second session, I was so happy to have found Dr James Champion. I have been regularly seeing James since 2019 and have found a significant improvement in my overall mental health. James was the only doctor that ever picked up that I have ADHD, he guided me in the right direction in getting a formal diagnosis and since then I have a much better understanding of myself. I am forever grateful for the support and guidance James has offered me. The practise is also beautiful and very calming. Definitely recommend MindTree Psychology!!

My first couple of visits were positive and hopeful. The reception staff were very friendly and made you a refreshment of your choice to take in to your appointment which was lovely. My psychologist had a gentle approach and let me spend the first couple of sessions just venting so he could get a better understanding of my situation. I openly spoke with him about my concerns of undiagnosed ADHD and that I’d like to persue a diagnosis, to which he seemed to dismiss and told me it’s a very expensive process and I should just live with it. One day I forgot my appointment and thought it was the next week. My first offence as I’m always on time if not early. I was told I had to pay a $200 cancellation fee which wouldn’t be covered by Medicare and I won’t be allowed to book any future appointments until it’s paid. I completely agree a penalty should be in place for instances like this but $200 is extortion. I burst into tears on the phone said I couldn’t pay it and that I very rarely make this mistake. I’d even understand this policy for repeat offenders but this was just human error. I paid it, and had one appointment afterwards but it had left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I won’t be returning. The therapist also said in one of our sessions that I’m ’hyper rational’ and answer my own problems before they turn into problems so I feel as though I don’t need to go. The second star is for the coffee.

I had my first session with MindTree Psychology after a disappointing history with psychologists, and I felt compelled to leave a review immediately.

It's been years since I gave therapy another chance, and meeting Evie has changed my perspective in ways I couldn't have imagined after just one session. The realisation and insights I've gained about my life make me emotional even as I write this review.

For the first time, I feel a sense of freedom and normalcy in my feelings, acknowledging the impact of childhood trauma on my adult life.
