Dr Mark Yim has provided me with excellent psychiatric care for almost two years now. He and I have not always seen eye to eye, but Mark has shown nothing but patience and care when treating me for an adult ADHD diagnosis.

He also offered to give me a test run of their TMS service which had excellent results for treating a period of apathy/low mood following on from some strenuous personal life circumstances.

Bradley was a joy in administering the sessions, and there are few mental health practices in my limited experience that simultaneously show such care and attention to patients whilst also being so efficiently run from a business perspective. Guess that credit should probably go to their office manager Alison...

Kudos to the entire Mind Plasticity team.

Dr Mark Yim and Dr Jeanne Gehue have gone above and beyond for my son. They have seen him for the amazing young man he is, and have set him on a path to achieve his full potential with access to the university of his dreams. Thank you so much!

I saw dr mark yim for 3 years. At first he seemed to be helpful(he was the first psychiatrist I’d ever seen and I was a 16year old) for the first maybe year or so he really seemed to care. He put me on lyrica for anxiety and it made me gain a LOT of weight. I was a drug user when I first started seeing him and I have been sober for almost 6 years now. He tried to take credit for me getting sober but he actually did nothing. All he ever did was prescribe me lyrics and fluoxetine. He assumed to know things about my mental illness which now looking back he clearly did not. He assumed I self harmed because of anger(I am not and have never been an angry person and not once did I talk to him about anger). Toward the end of my attendance to his appointments he didn’t really seem interested. It was just ā€œhey how’s everything going? Oh it’s not going well? Let’s talk in our next session about trying out a new medication (which we never got the time to get around to). I had such a bad experience with him, im not even sure what mental illnesses I have but I was diagnosed at the hospital with adhd when I was 15(which he did not address at all) I’m 22 now and I still haven’t managed to get treatment because i don’t feel very hopeful that someone will help(you guessed it I suffer from depression) I can’t do anything, all I do is sit at home stressed over nothing and idk why. I don’t have a reason. Dr mark yim failed me and I just can’t believe I was naive enough to believe he cared in the first place.

By far the most generous, approachable, progressive and caring practice I've encountered over 25 years of being in therapy.
Dr Yim is open and nurturing with fresh ideas while Bradley Whitwell - mental health nurse - has a heart of gold who genuinely cares about all the patients he manages.
Together they are a formidable force driving change for the community, making services more affordable than all surrounding, similar practices.

Our son has been under the care of Dr Mark Yim for 10 years. We wholeheartedly trust Mark's guidance and expertise, and appreciate how available and responsive he's been to our family. As parents, Mark gave us much hope about our son's mental health when other professionals were lacking. And for our son, Mark has been a constant support and advocate for his independence. Our son is now working and is a relatively stable and functional member of the socioeconomic community. This is in large part due to Mark’s knowledge of medications and his ongoing supervision. We have no hesitation in saying that Mark’s been a life-saver for our whole family and highly recommend him as a knowledgeable, caring and professional psychiatrist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Yim’s for over 6 years and I feel anything I write about how much he has helped me over that time simply would not do justice to what an excellent psychiatrist he is, but I will try.

When I met him I was undertaking a postgraduate course at university and feeling so depressed and overwhelmed that I knew I was going to have to drop out. To say I was only able to complete the course and get my degree because of Mark’s help is not an overstatement.

I can tell he genuinely cares about his patients because he often goes above and beyond trying to help them. I’ve often had follow ups and conversations with him when he wasn’t even on the clock.

He has always been incredibly proactive in my treatment, finding alternatives when something didn’t suit me, as well as suggesting new avenues of approach to my mental health that I never even considered.

Im not sure where I would be now had I not met him, and I know how fortunate I am that I did.

Was seeing psychiatrist Dr Kam Salah for a few years (since 2021) up until May 2023. She randomly cancelled and continued cancelling our fortnightly appointments for months on end. Every fortnight I would receive the same email from reception stating that the next month’s appointments had been cancelled yet again. Everytime I would call and speak to reception they were very rude and offered no help whatsoever. It wasn’t until 6 months went by that they finally told me that I could see Dr Mark Yim until Dr Kam Salah was back.
Our appointments went for no longer than 5 minutes and he would never believe what I had to say about my mental state. I would tell him that my medication I was on (one that I had been told to try by Salah) was not working for me and giving me terrible side effects such as suicidal ideation, he would simply say that I didn’t ’seem suicidal’ and that I should ā€˜just keep taking it’.
I was also trialling adhd medication with Salah and wasn’t on any at the time of seeing Yim as they had also given me terrible side effects (heart palpitations, shakiness, headaches, panic attacks). Yim decided to re-prescribe me the medication that had a warning on my file stating that my body did not agree with the medication. When he saw the warning, he chose to ignore it and continue to prescribe it to me. I told him the same side effects were occurring and he didn’t listen. He also never made new appointments with me and just said to call reception (whom never answer the phone) and make appointments one at a time when necessary.
I have since moved practices as I was being mistreated by reception staff and the psychiatry staff. Mark Yim is very arrogant and dismissive of patients problems. Still haven’t heard from reception since December 2023 about Salah’s whereabouts and if she would be coming back (it is now mid April 2024).
Not a good practice, wouldn’t recommend.
