If you want to stay in a clean place with good service, Mercure Mildura isn't the place to go.

We purposefully decided to stay at The Mercure rather than a little motel across the road, thinking that of course, The Mercure would be much better.
However, it was really disappointing .
The room was so dusty, and it's clear that it hasn't been taken care of for a long time. For example, the phone clearly hasn't been used for a long time because it was so dusty and so much grime and dirty marks that was stuck on the walls and the light switches which came off quite easily when I wiped them off with a wet towel. This shows that housekeeping has a lot to answer for.
In terms of amenities , there was NO SOAP. They had a body wash, shampoo and a conditioner but as frequent travellers, it's very rare to not see a small soap. We also didn't get a standard room, it was a double storey room with 2 bedrooms expecting the experience to be a bit better....highly recommend that people RETHINK to stay here. Really disappointed. We would have been better off staying in a cheaper place that was clean as we did before. Finally, to cap off our lovely experience NOT, as we checked out, we saw a staff member and asked where we could drop off our room key..
They said, to leave it in this plastic container . There was no HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE etc...need I say anymore? Please don't mistake this place as a HOTEL.... It isn't.

This hotel is in a great location but the rooms need a deep clean. Surfaces were clean enough but everything else was grotty. There was a thick layer of dust on the bedroom walls, the mesh roller blind in the bathroom was filthy, curtains were too long so were hanging all over the floor & dirty. Even the bathroom heat light had grime smeared all over it. I know it is a heritage building but would expect better minimum standards from Mercure & the Accor brand.

First thing you need to know is the car park for this hotel is behind it. |Reception staff were lovely and our check-in was very quick. |The reception and foyer area are welcoming and there are some comfy chairs if you're waiting for someone. |This is a three storey hotel and is an older building. The staircase is wide and has beautiful timber banisters, there's a gorgeous window in the stairwell but it is partially obscured by the staircase itself. The lift is gorgeous! It's heritage listed and only fits two! Lots of timber and a manually operated door.|Our open-plan room was on the first floor and it was stunning! We had a wall of windows that overlooked the town. The bedroom area was furnished with a very comfortable king size bed, lounge chair, large screen smart TV and air conditioner. |Our room opened into the living area which had a kitchenette with a microwave and crockery, a sitting area with a couch, desk and a large corner spa. |There was also a separate ensuite.|The room was clean, private, quiet and extremely comfortable and very affordably priced.|We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely outrageous experience at Mercure Hotel Mildura. We had a prepaid booking—our credit card was already charged in full—and after driving over 6 hours from Melbourne, we arrived at 11pm, only to be told our reservation was cancelled without any prior notice. No call. No email. Nothing.

When we called the front desk, not only did the receptionist offer no help or solution, but she also spoke to us in a mocking, condescending tone, clearly making fun of our accents. I have lived in Australia for over 10 years, manage a team of nearly 100 people, and have never experienced this level of disrespect or xenophobia.

When we asked how this happened or what we could do, she coldly replied that it was “not her business” and that she “had no idea.” She mentioned a refund would be issued—but we were left without a room to stay in at 11pm in a regional town. No assistance, no sympathy, and not even the slightest effort to help us find alternative accommodation.

It’s shameful that a brand like Mercure (Accor) allows this kind of discriminatory, apathetic customer service. Just because someone is not a native English speaker does not mean they should be treated with less dignity.

This is the worst hospitality experience I’ve had in Australia. We have lodged a formal complaint with Accor, and I sincerely hope no other guest has to go through what we did. If you care about being treated like a human being—do not stay here!!!

Room was average, not much light with the small windows. There's also an issue with the water pressure making alot of noise, which resulted me having a cool shower to avoid the piercing sound. Our room was also not serviced, even when we told the cleaner we would leave the room in a few minutes. I'm fine with them not servicing if it is occupied but they could have at least left some fresh towels after we left, would have taken a couple of minutes! Definitely wouldn't stay for long stay, overnight is fine though, but probably best to find elsewhere as this is definitely not a 4 star hotel.

The apartments are a little more tired every time we visit and could do with some love. Air cons leak leaving streaks on the walls, we saw a hole in the wall. Old stove tops with faded controls. In our case, the wifi did not work. Servicing the rooms is only every three days unless asked. However, staff are friendly and location is fantastic.

Front reception ladies extremely helpful. Unfortunately rooms dirty, carpet old, bed uncomfortable, air con extremely noisy, hot water took 55 seconds to come through, manager unhelpful. Would give it zero stars if I could. Cut our holiday short!! Travelled the world and have to say worst hotel room I have slept in. Back packers hostel are much better!!

4 nights of comfort in Mildura, very clean rooms - the vintage lift is an unusual touch. Staff were very pleasant to deal with. Lots of local restaurants, including a very nice inhouse restaurant.
