No one want a loved one in palletive care but if they ever do end up here, they are fortunate. The staff here are INCEDIBILE HUMANS! No shortage of care and understanding at a critical time in one's family life. All the staff here are caring but one person, Raymond, was and is beyond words! Thankyou for you sincere love you gave my father in his last weeks, you have a unique soul.

Thank you to all the team at McCulloch. My mother was here in her final days and received beautiful and caring treatment from the staff. The rooms had an outlook to the garden which she often said was very lovely. The staff were all so thoughtful and caring towards her, it made her final days very peaceful. I’d highly recommend McCulloch house and want to thank all the staff for their contribution.

I would like to commend the incredible nursing staff at McCulloch for their outstanding care of my darling Dad during his last day in this life. Thanks to Kim and the team, my father was given the farewell he deserved, in a beautiful room with balcony doors opening to a sun-drenched garden. Staff went out of their way enabling me to burn beautiful essential oils for Dad, whilst playing his favourite music, allowing me to sleep by his side in a recliner all night. My father strongly believed in paying a compliment for good service when it was due - and I know he would want me to have thanked you. So, from the bottom of my heart... Thank You.

Ever since our mother died three years ago, we give thanks that the doctor in emergency, where she was taken after a major stroke, offered a bed at McCulloch House.
My sister and I lived there for four days until she died peacefully in a beautiful peaceful room with light streaming in and a tranquil garden view . It truly felt like home. The experience of the level of sensitive care given to her and to us during that time has left us with a lasting sense of deep peace and gratitude.

Not a place I could recommend. Sadly when a dear friend or relative is needing admission to a hospice you don't have a lot of choice, it is where a bed is available.
The first contact doctor said it was a good place, so nice and quiet. Of course it is, all the patients are heavily sedated with narcotics !
My relative was admitted as we could see they were beginning to have trouble taking medication, drinking and eating. They had inevitably become weaker due to end of Life. A nursing staff member said my relative was sitting up and eating and drinking. NONE of the people that were around my relative, family and close friends, ever saw that.. We had been house sharing and caring, with the relative 24/7.
With our relatives permission we ticked the pastoral care box. The minister lives a 3 minute walk away. The hospice staff never called him.
My relative had serious vision problems, glasses on the cupboard next to bed. My relative drugged and near death but with moments of being with us could have looked at her favourite flowers. Where were they put ? On top of a tall cupboard out of her line of vision, even if she could have seen them.Hours earlier staff said they would get a table to put the flowers on so as near relative.
My relative loved to have music or the TV on quietly in the background, it was soothing for them. Didn't happen.
The rooms are large and bare, very daunting. That shocked us on first visit as our relative had been installed in a warm happy room overlooking a small garden. With TV and music.
The only person who was kind and sympathetic was the security guard at the entrance.
I make these comments as a person who worked in the grief industry and for a leading hospital as a patient support person, not just as a grieving relative,
