One of the best experiences with customer service and food I've had for ages. All the dinning room/bar staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The food was fantastic and a good price. I live miles from this place but would definitely go more often if I could.

Hubby and I stopped in for dinner tonight, the food was delicious! Steak was cooked perfectly as asked. Definitely try the cheesy bacon garlic bread! We were served by Rehanna who was an absolute delight! We will definitely be back soon

Stayed 3 nights over Gather Round.
Great location with access to shops, cafes, buses and train.
Property is a little dated, but everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Room had everything we needed, bonus to have microwave with crockery, cutlery.
Enjoyed a good meal. Loved the sirloin, perfect.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here and it was the best day/night of our lives! The function rooms were decorated beautifully, the staff were friendly and the Events Manager, Richard, was amazing. His creativity, attention to detail, personality and everything he did to help us was perfect and made for an incredible experience overall! The Mawson Lakes Hotel exceeded our expectations and our guests can't stop talking about how much they loved our wedding! I chose to stay here because it rated well. In not too sure why this is.

We had the units, no kitchens - so be warned on that - but barely any other facilities that you might expect.

The drier wasn't vented, so lint went everywhere - that is when we could keep it running.

So we got our water from the sink next to the washing machine, washed the cups in the hand basin, and boiled water in a jug on the fridge.

That said, the stay was nice, building and car parking was secure. But I don't think it was quite worth what we had paid.

Buffet breakfast
Totally not worth the money. The food was soggy, and the setup was a mess. The only egg option was scrambled—no fried or poached eggs available. The only sauce offered was tomato, which is pretty disappointing for a buffet. The fruit selection was poor and looked far from fresh, and there weren’t many food options overall. You’d expect at least some pancakes or variety, but nope. Drinks weren’t included either—you had to pay extra for anything other than water, and the free coffee tasted awful. Honestly, it felt like a cheap setup for a premium price. Wouldn’t recommend.

We recently visited this restaurant and was really let down by the service. Despite it being part of a hotel, there was a serious lack of hospitality. About 99% of the female staff were rude, unwelcoming, and looked like they didn’t want to be there. One girl was even chewing gum while taking our order, completely unprofessional and off-putting.

The only saving grace was the guy at the bar, he was polite, cheerful, and genuinely pleasant. He’s the only one who seemed to understand good customer service. The rest of the team could really learn a thing or two from him.
