As a health care professional myself and carer for my father with Alzheimer's, I am appalled by the lack of compassion, care and empathy at this practice, but specifically the with Dr Sasikaran and his inability to prioritize the care of his patients. Despite booking in advance for difficult to obtain appointments, on 3 occasions so far, we have had appointments arranged incorrectly or shifted at the very last moment without any consideration for our circumstances and other appointments we have scheduled. Yesterday was the last straw! We had our appointment moved yet again; I drove 1.5 hours from my home to escort my father to his appointment. We arrived for our scheduled appointment, and after 40 mins waiting, I overheard the receptionist tell Dr Sasikaran's next patient, that 'the doctor still hasn't arrived'. There were patients already in the waiting room who were scheduled before my father's appointment also! I confronted the receptionist who confirmed this. With no Doctor in sight our scheduled appointment was looking to be in excess of 2 hours or more late. What makes things worse is the lack of communication by staff or the practice to proactively advise patients or better still manage bookings more appropriately to avoid this! As I needed to attend another appointment myself, we were unable to wait, so we had leave, drop my dad at home and then drive back another 1.5 hours home! This is completely unacceptable. There is no concern for patients or caregivers. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the healthcare Ombudsman to ensure this addressed appropriately and to make sure other patients are not subjected to similar in the future.

I recently attended this specialist practice and was greeted warmly by the receptionist. She explained that there had been an unexpected delay and there would be a wait to see my specialist. This happens sometimes, but it makes a big difference when the staff keep you informed. The lovely lady I saw was so helpful and went above an beyond to help me while I was there. I would highly recommend this practice for anyone needing to attend

My 87 year old mother and I had a very bad experience today with one of the receptionist. We found her very rude and absolutely no understanding of the elderly and how hard it is for them to get around. It took us 30 minutes to get from the car to the surgery just to be told we were too early and that we can't wait in the surgery although there were 2 spare seats and it was extremely hot outside, she then told us to wait outside. After words being exchanged two middle aged people got up and gave up their seats so my mum could stay in the air conditioning. The elderly need to be treated with more respect and the receptionist needs to learn how to speak and respect people, she had no idea what we have been through.

From my initial telephone booking to my follow up booking, the staff at Macquarie Towns Specialist Centre were friendly and accommodating. When I walked into the centre, it was a whirl of business and telephone calls but I was greeted by the front desk staff with a warm smile. All staff were very helpful in regards to my concerns and I am looking forward to my future appointments.

Dr Anil Kurien was fantastic! Very professional and friendly. Made me feel comfortable. Would definitely recommend him!

However the receptionists at the front desk were rude and unwelcoming.
They were not friendly or smiled. Did not greet me professionally on my way in or my way out. It takes one second to smile and be nice to someone. Especially to people who may not be in the best spirits due to medical conditions.

I Highly recommend them, the staff are always polite and friendly, always happy to help out.
The doctors are amazing, i have seen many specialists in different practices, and they are not always as compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and thorough as the doctors at Macquarie. When you need frequent treatment and ongoing care it really is a blessing to be in their care.

I had my nerve conduction study done last year and needed to have surgery for my hands but Dr A Malkhan didn’t bother to send report to GP or specialist. I spent money to see him and other two specialists but his staff or Dr never sent my report until now. I have been suffering from bad carpel tunnel for both of my hands but being a Dr he never took any responsibility to send report even after I have called his surgery numerous times. He even says on his report when he sent to the GP don’t give this report to anyone. It’s very weird how he treats his patients and pays no attention about them
Not happy at all with his review

Once again another visit to the wonderful practice that is Macquarie towns specialist centre . Whilst awaiting for my appointment on Monday the 13th of September , I watched a very elderly and some what confused lady explain that she had a 2pm appointment. I then watched the staff do everything in their power to explain sometimes she gets confused . Then one of the staff members picked up her handbag and offered to drive the poor elderly woman to the medical centre she was suppose to be attending . Again I was amazed by the care the staff at this centre chow their clients
Well done everyone
