Incredibly unsatisfactory experience at Lomond Crescent Medical Centre.

We attended practice on Monday 25th Nov with a person with SN's who presented with a sore throat. After a neg- RAT test at home, a nose swab conducted at this appt came back pos+ on Thursday 28th Nov.

I phoned Lomond practice at approx 9.30am Wed 4th Dec as my person with SN's still had a very sore throat. I wanted to clarify if it was safe to return to practice, rather than simply turn up.

I was told by the receptionist that Dr. would call me back. After a SIX HOUR wait - in which we could have been waiting at the hospital, I phoned again and was told the Dr. will call after 6pm. At that point I highlighted the already extended wait without the Doctor calling back. The doctor called back 5 mins later.

I explained to Dr the AB's she had previously prescribed had not assisted the sore throat. Dr. reiterated that she was following protocol & was unable to prescribe an alternate AB.

Doctor Latif's manner was thoroughly patronising. She spoke down to me, by continuing to restate "I dont want to repeat myself" insinuating there was an issue with my level of comprehension. When in fact, she was stonewalling my enquiry.

At no point did Dr. suggest I bring patient back for reassessment. Dr. stated other than prescribing the same AB which HAD NOT worked across the last 2 weeks, I should see an ENT for the continued throat soreness. End of story.

I was dissatisfied by this discussion & decided to raise the issue of an email from Lomond Practice I had received that same week, which requested my permission to bulk bill me for an appointment dated 28th Nov at 4pm. An appt. I had NEVER made.

Dr. stated it was Practice protocol to phone patients to inform when a pos+ Covid test was returned. I had not requested this phone call. Nor did I speak to anyone at this practice at that time. They planned to bulk bill for a service they never provided.

After I raised the issue of this dubious bulk billing practice Dr Latif stated that she was intuiting some "distrust in the relationship & "invited" our family to NOT return to the practice."

Today we attended an alternate medical practice with the patient, where I appraised the 2nd doctor of the above situation re: recent covid diagnosis. Only to be told by another Dr. that patient has a completely unrelated throat diagnosis, not related to previous Covid diagnosis. A different AB WAS ABLE TO BE & WAS PRESCRIBED.

A simple second consultation by Dr Latif COULD have diagnosed this secondary issue.

Instead Dr. Latif chose to "invite" our family to no longer be patients at Lomond Crescent Medical Centre. Hardly service with a smile!

I would have happily acquiesced to not returning to Lomond Cres Medical Centre for the 2nd consult, if there were concerns re: possible covid transmission. However this was not the case, as more than 10 days since pos+ result had elapsed.

Whilst my phone call with Dr Latif was tense, I was not rude, nor abusive in any way. In fact I would suggest it was Dr Latif who was patronising and rude.

Her ejection of our family from the practice was unprofessional & I feel based on my query re: the double dipping bulk billing practice.

Given our very positive experience at an alternate Medical Practice, I am doubting the suitability & quality of care provided by Lomond Crescent Medical Centre & will happily transfer our custom elsewhere.

I have been seeing Dr Latif since she has taken over the practice. The doctor and staff have always been friendly and professional. Special mention to Nurse Mia who I see regularly and is amazing, very thorough in her job with such a kind caring nature. Since this practice has changed hands it offers all types of services: bloods / Podiatrist / skin checks etc - a one stop shop! A great addition to our community. Highly recommend!

Could use laboratory services, as not a pt there. Secretary told me the services were not available, although clinical labs lady was happy take my blood. Waste of time, false advertising. Seems as though the gp doesn't want anyone using the clinical lab without seeing one of their doctors, ridiculous

A number of months ago Dr Latif took over the management of this surgery. Since then, the practice has gone from terrible to awesome. There are more and more services being added every month which is really convenient. I particularly like that you can now book online, scripts via mobile, teleservice, Hearing Australia on site. My whole family, including elderly Mother attend the practice and the Doctors are wonderful. In particular Dr Latif is knowledgeable, efficient, kind and remembers all about you. She is nothing but thorough and is also great with recommendations around cost savings for prescriptions and the like. They always do their best to service as many patients as possible so if you can unlucky on a busy day when many people are sick, please be kind to them as they are trying to help as many people as possible.

Dr Latif has shown great care and expertise in her treatment of my husband and myself. We are extremely happy with this medical practice, as it was very difficult to find a knowledgeable and caring doctor when we first moved to the area several years ago.

Dr Latif works very hard to meet the needs of her patients, and we are very impressed with the dedication of the entire practice: the friendly reception staff, the nurses and the blood collectors.

My family and I have seen Dr Sandra Morell since 2010 when we moved to Winston Hills. Since then we have been really happy to have her as the family doctor. She is very kind and knowledgeable and never makes us feel as if she is in a hurry to see the next patient. She always goes the extra mile to make sure we see a good Specialist when needed. She is very approachable and at times goes far beyond to help out with any personal problems. Definitely one in a million!

I have dealt with Dr Latif,for my 2 daughters for different medical conditions recently.She has been so professional and so caring and even helped me with specialists who were not too concerned with my daughter's kidneys issues and pushed them for further review when as a parent I had no pull. I could not recommend her enough,she is outstanding!!
