Life Cancer Service has helped me navigate the fear and concerns following initial diagnosis of cancer. All of the staff have been so supportive and assisted my recovery. The exercise program not only helped physically but also helped psychologically.

The structure of the program while undergoing chemotherapy was tailored to my needs, and the extended exercise class has helped me immeasurably

I have Leukaemia currently in remission but as I don’t do much exercise and am limited by a hip muscle tear and foot arthritis my GP Emma recommended I attend Lift . This is the only thing I have done just for myself and it has been very rewarding . The support and insight of the various doctors has been very useful and the support of the physios has helped me . As a retired doctor this professional pleasant and personal help has been invaluable . My future is uncertain but the journey has been helped immeasurably by the he support offered by Help and I will strongly recommend it to any other patient with a malignancy . Thank you . Peter

It’s never too late. I was an 81 year old male living alone with a medical history including multiple myeloma, spinal surgery, two hip and cataract replacements and a stroke. I was losing muscle and wobbly. My GP suggested I investigate Lift Exercise Medicine.
Now 82 after 6 months of 2-3 exercise sessions per week friends say I look healthier than I looked 2 years ago. I’ve regained muscle, confidence, and stability. Lift exercise medicine is a professional, safe, supervised program which has helped me maintain an active life style.

I have been a client a little under a year and can only write positive comments about Lift.
The admin staff are welcoming and personable and make the first point of contact friendly and uplifting even if you are having a bad day .
The medical staff are caring, holistic and thorough. The Physios and Exercise Physiologists are very friendly professional and really take into account how different we all are and at what level we are able to work at . They make the session rush by and I feel fantastic after each visit .
I am lucky that I don’t have many side effects from treatment which exercise would benefit but the sessions under the expert staffs guidance definitely have made me fitter and more energized than ever .
This model of care is fantastic and it would be great if it government health organizations could offer the same to public oncology clients .
It seems no matter how much people are feeling debilitated from their disease , Lift are able to adapt to their needs and make people feel more positive and in control of their health journey.
I cannot recommend Lift highly enough at giving people health benefits and the control over their cancer journey with improved outcomes

The best testaments I can give is that even when I have no enthusiasm, energy or drive, I still put on my gym clothes & go. Once at Lift everyone, reception, doctors & physio’s energise me, support me, encourage me to do better. End of session, I’m wrecked in that great way of having accomplished the best you can do. From the initial assessment, front desk staff and wonderful exercise physiologists, the care at LIFT was excellent. I was well cared for, monitored and encouraged every step of my journey and LIFT became my safe space. All members of the team were friendly and genuinely empathetic to each individual. Things were well explained and I learnt so much about how my body works. My general fitness level improved and when I was well enough to ‘graduate’, I was supported through the transition process.
